My mother saw an advertisement for a skin creme on Facebook that was offering a free trial. She clicked on it and it indicated that they would send a free trial size of a skin care product but, a limited number were available so, she needed to act now. She understood it to mean that she would receive a free trial size of the product for only paying the shipping and handling fees. She did not interpret that she was signing up for a subscription and would be charged the full price on a reoccurring monthly basis if she did not call and cancel within 15 days. There were two additional product offered as well under the same guise of only having to pay shipping and handling for a trial size. These were also charged in full for the monthly subscription because, she did not cancel within the 15 day trial period.
I called the companies phone numbers that were on her credit card statement. They are three different companies, all with three different phone numbers and locations but, they are all the same company. I called and spoke to customer service and the first agent had the same line for all three companies. No refunds offered. No returns accepted. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I got the same person for all three companies.
This is unethical and immoral. They are preying on unsuspecting customers and going through a great deal of effort to make it difficult for people to tell they are the same corrupt company.
