ColorTech Glasses Reports & Reviews (9)

100% guarantee fraud and false advertising. I was told to return product to manufacturer in China not California as advertised. Product never arrived and customer service stopped responding to inquiries. No refund issued. Also no one answers phone number listed on website.

I bought these glasses for my husband over 3 weeks ago and I have yet to receive them. No one answers their phone or their emails. I put in a complaint with PayPal and I’m waiting to see if they’ll help. I paid through PayPal that’s why I thought it was a legit company. I was wrong!

I bought these glasses a few months ago for my husband, $105. One reason was the 100% guarantee and the return policy. The online reviews were great. Then we get the glasses, cheaper than cheap, like from a dollar store. They did not work and actually were dangerous to wear when driving as my husband could not see the stop light colors. So, I emailed and asked for a refund. "Sophie Brown", I'm sure not her real name or photo on their website suggested we wait 10 days as it takes a week or so to adjust. After 2 weeks I contacted "Sophie" again and she said sure I could get a full refund but must send back to China at my expense. After several other emails I contacted Capital One, VISA, and they issued a provisional credit of $105 until they got the response from "Sophie". She came back that the glasses had been delivered by DHL and were not damaged. I told Capital One that was never the issue as I had already sent all the emails to them and the issue was not the delivery but the glasses themselves and the refund policy. Capital One referred to VISA and they said since the refund policy was not clear, (even though it was) they would debit my card back for the $105, which they did several weeks ago. So, reached out to "Sophie" again that I was going to report them to FTC and BBB (which I found out that they are NOT part of but advertise as belonging to). Sophie then said they would refund 65% immediately and at this point I said fine, I am over this. Then "Sophie" comes back later and says they will not refund the 65% since they never got the rebilled $105 back! I sent them proof that they had their money but nothing yet. This is a scam and fraudulent advertising not to mention unethical. Color Tech, Inc is not registered in the USA nor are they located in California. This is a Chinese scam!

I usually don't fall for these sham businesses, but my son wanted to get these for his dad's birthday. The first thing I asked him was, "Is this a U.S. company?" They mislead by impersonating a California business - they are not, they are in China. It took almost a month to arrive, so I knew something was not right then. My husband tried them and they are garbage - everything looked hot pink, not the real deal. On site says easy returns, 1 contact us, 2 return (and it will cost a fortune to china, not US), 3 Immediate Refund. Nope. Have been stalled via email for many days wanting this or that, when I asked for an RMA and return instructions. I have just filed a claim with paypal (only smart thing I did) and can hopefully get some money back. I hate being duped!

Website is full of false statements - 1. says order will be received within 3-7 days, it took well over a month to receive items. 2. 100 day trial, risk free, money back guarantee- the product did not work when I contacted the company via email I was given the run around then finally told I need to return the item to China. My shipping label indicates they were shipped from Compton, CA plus their website states made in CA and if a return is needed to return to same warehouse where it was shipped from and they would cover the shipping costs - all of these statements are a LIE. After calling out these false statements the customer service agent has stopped returning my email. 3. The phone number is an automated system that will not connect you with a live person, on multiple occasions at various times I have called and continue to receive a statement indicating there are more than 50 people on hold and the system disconnects you.

This company says they sell color blind correction technology glasses. On their website, they claim to be accredited by the BBB, FDA approved and manufactured in the United States. After purchase, they give no tracking number, they’re phone lines direct you to an automated voicemail and no one answers emails.

Greetings to whom this may concern:

The website https://colortechglasses.com/ is currently using a number of deceptive practices to create the look and feel of a credible website and business in an effort to trick people into making a purchase. The abuses are listed below. Due to these abusive business practices, we ask that the website owners identities be revealed to us and that the website be removed.

1. Fake Endorsements

Color Tech Glasses website currently lists a number of well-known publications, such as GQ, Business Insider, Forbes, and Esquire, on its website. This website is implying that its sunglasses have been the subject of articles in those well-known publications when in fact none of these publications have ever written about Color Tech Glasses.

2. Fake Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited Business Seal

Color Tech Glasses uses a fake ScamPulse.com seal. A legitimate seal will take the user to the ScamPulse.com business profile. Color Tech Glasses fake ScamPulse.com seal does nothing when a user clicks on it.

3. Fake Executives

As early as November 12, 2019, Color Tech Glasses provided fake executive profiles on its website. See attached Page Vault document. The pictures of the "Co-Founder and CEO Chelsey Hawkins" is actually a fake person whose picture was source from the stock commercial photos on the Internet.

4. Fake Trademark

Color Tech Glasses indicate that its mark is a registered trademark. However, a quick search on TESS at the USPTO website shows no registered marks for "color tech" for class 9 sunglasses. There are, however, other "color tech" marks, but they do not belong to this business.

6. False Claim of FDA approval.

Sunglasses as class 1 devices are governed by 21 CFR 886.5850, which are exempted from pre-market notification regulations and therefore never "approved" by the FDA. Color Tech Glasses falsely claim their glasses are "SCIENTIFICALLY APPROVED".

7. Fake Reviews

Under its "Verified Reviews" tab, Color Tech Glasses claims it has over a 1000+ "verified reviews" on its site. Some of the earliest reviews go as far back as 2017. However, the Whois record shows that the website was only created on July 04, 2019. This means that all their reviews are probably fake.

8. Fake Strikethrough Pricing

Deceptive strikethrough pricing is illegal under 16 CFR 233.1. The glasses offered by Color Tech Glasses all have strikethrough pricing showing an imaginary original price and a lower price. However, their glasses were never priced at the strikethrough price.

9. Illicit Use of the Trademark of Others.

For some time, the Color Tech Website used illicitly used trademarks of third parties to imply their endorsement of Color Tech Glasses. See attached email correspondence with the University of Minnesota. Although some of these marks have been removed, others still remain.
