Called asking to track my bank account using some company, would take a transaction to activate.

• May 12, 2023

They called my dad who is elderly and has cancer, they said it was chase bank and ask him to verify his account number after they told him his address and name, my dads is going through chemo and radiation and his memory isn’t very good, I asked my dad to let me talk to them and I told them I was going to call local branch, they hung up on me, I did call local branch they informed me these scammers can actually ghost the number and it wasn’t Chase calling him, they start calling at 8am and continue until after 9pm

I have informed them I am reporting them to take his number off the calling list, but they continue to call, my dad will answer his phone!!! So I am witnessing these calls and he puts them on speaker so I can hear, so I am now answering his calls, I can not keep up with all the numbers they switch up on

I was contacted by a scammer posing as Chase Bank to notify me that my Chase account experienced a problem, and was locked. I was given a website to log into, and to follow the instructions to unlock my account. I didn't log into the website, but obviously there would have been a requirement to supply confidential information.

I received a text from the above number stating that my Chase Visa/Debit card had been locked and that I should call back immediately. I don’t bank with Chase, but called out of curiosity as I suspected a scam. When I called, I was greeted by a recording asking me to enter my Chase bank card number in full. I hung up immediately, so I can’t tell you what additional information would have been asked for, but it’s clear they were “phishing.”

I received a phone call from someone calling themselves Rebecca from Chase Bank stating that I had wrote out a check to Rameriaze (not exact spelling) for $4500 to purchase a car. She was not clear as to the person's exact name and stated that they placed a hold on the check. I asked the caller what is my name? (considering that they were calling me.) She claimed that she had to look up the information and that some of the information on the check was hard to read. After a minute or so she did come up with my name and bank that I do business with, but considering that I have a home mortgage with that bank also it is too easy for property information to show up on the internet. At that point I hung up on her.

I keep getting calls from an organization that calls itself "Chase," that claims to be a debt collection agency that is unaffiliated with the bank. The reason I am reporting this is because they said they were collecting a debt from my doctor's office, and they knew which office I visited. Because they had this personal information, I thought they were a valid organization until I called my doctor to verify the debt. They had no unpaid balance for me, so I now know this is a scam.
