Advance America PayDay Loans (not the real Advance America) Reports & Reviews (4)

Contacted by Karen I evidently was approved for a loan for $6000. Only I had to pay for some stupid fee with EBay gift card. Make long story short, Was promised everything nI paid would be reimbursed to me. Well, ended up paying total of $5500 for a $6000 loan and they are still after me for more. Called District Attorney office and they couldn’t do anything for me. Stay away from this so called predacious company.

Mark Brown emailed me stating I was approved for a $6000 but I had to verify I had the ability to pay it back. Mark requested I provide his company with my ATM debit card information as well as proof my bank account belonged to me by depositing at least $10 into my checking account. I did. Unaware Mark used my information to file a fraudulent claim against my bank account, I purchased three visa gift cards totaling $1490 as insurance for the loan. I never got the loan because according to Mark, I missed the bank cutoff time and had to redo the procedure. The following day, Mark attempted to file another fraudulent claim against bank account and that’s when the bank called me to explain to me my account was frozen for fraud. I’m out of $1490. Mark Brown is pretending he doesn’t know what happened and won’t take my calls.

When I called the phone number, on two occasions to inform them not to contact me, he hung up on me, not allowing me to speak. He has a strong Indian accent, and identifies himself as Kevin Smith.

I received an email and a text from a company pretending to be "Advance America PayDay Loans." I did apply for a loan, but not a payday one and not with Advance America (there is a real company by this name, but this is a scam phone number and email address). I was emailed from [email protected] and then texted from 929-800-4003. These are not legitimately associated with Advance America and have been reported to the FTC. The email is scant in textual content and the attached pdf is incredibly thin on legalese or specificity to me/personal details. I did not reply to either the email or text message after doing a quick online search of the real Advance America website. It is beyond infuriating to know that there are so many people preying on those looking for financial help in hard times. Please do not fall for this! Do not make contact with this number or email address!
