On April 9, 2020, I placed an order for their exercise bar. I received information that the order shipped on April 28 through Yanwen ePacket-South with a tracking number. Once the "package" got to the last stage of getting out of China, it stopped. I continued to contact the [email protected] email and I only received that this was within their time frame and there would be delays because of Covid-19.

Here are some statements they made to me: "Unfortunately, leaving/entering the country is the longest component of shipping. We are currently experiencing delays due to the limited shipments that are going on around the world." "While we wish to provide you with an estimate of arrival, it’s completely out of our hands because shipping companies are too unpredictable to give you an exact date." "According to our company policy posted on our website, 'we are not issuing refunds or cancellations for the orders due to the delayed delivery time caused by the delivery companies'."

Not sure if any of these statements are really true. Especially their "posted policy" as their website is completely gone and there is no "posted policy." I used paypal so I have opened a case and have escalated it. I have contacted the company countless times and even got a new email address from the supposed "shipper" - [email protected] - not sure how real this email is, but I have emailed them to get their business information. Most likely won't hear from them.

I am really hoping PayPal will be able to fix some of this, but not sure. Also glad it was only about $30 that I'm out.

Actually - I found the website - https://trainingstick.myshopify.com/products/bar-rhino-workout-bar?ref=loox-soci... - it's not even barrhino.com. I did make sure to contact the organization that they claim to donate money to and inform them of the fake business.

Sadly, I had a similar experience as everyone else here. On April 7th, I placed an order for a portable resistance bar from Bar Rhino based on a Facebook ad. I thought the resistance bar looked like a good alternative to a barbell for my at-home workouts during quarantine. I'm not easily scammed and both the ad and the Bar Rhino website, along with its reviews, seemed legit. A few days after I placed my order, I was notified that it had shipped. However, when it had not arrived after a month, I contacted Bar Rhino's customer service and received a prompt reply that shipping had been delayed due to the pandemic. After a similar follow-up another month later, I finally received my order on July 24, nearly four months after placing the order. Only it was not the product I had ordered. Like others, I'd received a "portable Pilates bar" from a company called Cherry. There was no Bar Rhino branding anywhere on the packaging, which had been badly damaged. The bar itself was also slightly dented and damaged, and seemed very cheaply made in general. I contacted customer service again requesting a refund, but then I saw that both the Bar Rhino website and Facebook page are defunct and realized it was a scam. Having paid through Amazon Pay (fortunately, so that the scammers don't have my credit card info), I reported the issue there, but have little hope that I will receive a refund at this point. Luckily, I'm only out $29.70, but that's the last time I purchase anything based on a social media ad.

Update: Before I realized this was a scam, I had contacted "customer service" at the [email protected] address and received the following response:

"We sincerely apologize that you feel this way. We take your feedback very seriously and will be delivering this message over to our manufacturing team to investigate. We have initiated the return process. Please be sure to include your name and order number inside your package. Please ship your Bar Rhino to the following address below. We will issue your refund once we receive the product and verify that it is in adequate condition. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for shopping with us."

Google Maps shows the given address as an apparent residence in California. Furthermore, the shipper's e-mail address on Amazon Pay has now changed to [email protected]. Basically, the whole thing is extremely sketch and I would advise anyone hoping for a refund to not waste too much time or energy (and definitely not more money!) pursuing it. Whoever did this is just pure human garbage for using a global crisis to rip people off. Lesson learned - I will never again purchase anything from a social media ad.

Same experience as above. This is definitely a scam. I saw it advertised on Facebook and I placed my order on 4/8 because I thought it would be nice to have during the COVID-19 quarantine. I figured that even if it took the full 25 days I would still have it before the gyms opened back up. I waited about 5 weeks and sent a message and was told it was hung up in shipping and it was out of their hands. Waited another month and emailed again and expressed that I felt like it was a scam and they responded ensuring me it is not a scam and that they have the same info as I do on the shipping. I finally received the order today (7/8) so 3 months from the day I ordered. The box was pretty beat up but the item was okay. However, this was packaged as a Portable Pilates Bar with instructions for 3 exercises using the bar, and not the fancy bar that replaces tons of equipment that was advertised. I looked up the actual product and it is available on Amazon for $10 cheaper than what I paid. The website of course is now down and even a search only shows these websites to identify scams. I wasn't too surprised it turned out to be a scam, but at least the payment went through Amazon so they had limited access to my credit card. And, I may still use the Pilates bar for some exercises.

I had the same experience-ordered on 4/11 from a social media advertisement. Waited 25 days and contacted the seller. They said it was stuck and nothing they could do. I moved in June and went back and forth with them for a bit before they finally offered to refund half of the money I paid for the product. I should have disputed with my credit card company, but I didn’t want the hassle.

There’s a translate button on the shipping page that shows that since 5/13, it’s still in China. I’ve ordered some other items around the same time from China and while they did take a little longer to arrive, they arrived. I think this is a scam or they know they can’t ship and are taking people’s money anyway. Now their website is down. AVOID!

Ordered an item on 4/8/2020 from an Ad appearing on social media for a piece of fitness equipment.

On 4/15/2020 received notification that the item had shipped.

60 days later, tracking information shows the item is still in transit (presumably stuck in China, I don't read Chinese and that's what language the last update of 5/13/2020 was written in.)

Opened a PayPal Dispute on 6/14/2020 for a refund due to non-receipt of goods. Seller stated that once the item has shipped it is not their responsibility. There was "an unexpected hold at the border" and blamed COVID pandemic for the delay.

I will wait until the deadline to turn my PayPal dispute into a claim in the hopes that this item actually exists and does actually leave China. But that seems unlikely. ScamPulse.com reviews suggest others are experiencing similar issues.

The website does guarantee that orders will be processed within 6 business days (which it was) and that shipping could take anywhere from 6-25 days due to delays. Technically, they did "ship" it within that time frame. However, nowhere was it mentioned that this was shipping from China and would be held up for over two months there. If this isn't a scam, it's certainly poor business management.

On April 7th I saw an exercise bar ad on Facebook by Bar Rhino. In their video ad, I clicked on the link to their website and ordered the exercise bar. I was shortly e-mailed an order confirmation.Two days later I was e-mail a shipping notification with a link to the Shop (formerly Arrive) app to track my China Post package with a tracking number. I filed a dispute with PayPal to get the ball rolling, because I had a feeling this item was a scam. Their website claimed to have warehouses around the world, yet the closest warehouse to Illinois with the item stocked was all the way in China. Since May 5th, the Shop app still shows "Origin Post preparing shipment." I escalated my dispute to a claim with PayPal on May 9th. As the estimated resolution date nears, the date gets pushed back to a later date. I have e-mailed Bar Rhino asking where my item was and for a refund. The most recent e-mail on May 26th said the best they can do was a partial refund for 50% and that I could keep the item for "consolation". They told me the refund would take 1 to 3 days to post. It is June 1st and I have still not received my item due to arrive May 25th at the latest nor my partial refund.

I have filed a dispute with PayPal on April 22nd which closed on May 9th with the option to escalate the dispute to claim. I escalated the dispute to a claim on May 10th. As my estimated resolution date nears, the date gets pushed to a later date. I have e-mailed Bar Rhino asking for a refund. They said per their refund policy that the best they can do is a partial refund of 50% and I can keep the item as "consolation". They told me that it would take 1 to 3 days for the refund to post. That was on May 26th. It is now June 1st and I have not seen neither. I am tired of the run around that I am getting from both Pay Pal and Bar Rhino. I should not have bought this non-existent item advertised on my Facebook newsfeed. Bar Rhino is a scam. I wasted $29.70, and got nothing for it. They promised the item would arrive May 22nd, then the 50% refund, still nothing! Even PayPal is doing nothing about these scammers. All I got for my $29.70 is a tracking number! Don't waste your time or money on these guys!

Bar Rhino used a product called Gymstick on their website to promote their resistance bar. There are many complaints on Facebook of customers not receiving their product, but with no address and no phone number you have to email them to get in touch with someone.

I and others ordered their product in the first week of April. It turns out the site was created at the end of March with no current activity since April 10,2020. After waiting over a month for the product with no tracking updates from China I asked for a refund. They are refusing a refund saying they are still within their own shipping policy.

I did inform them that I was going to report them for false advertising. I also emailed gymstick to let them know their product was being advertised as someone else’s.

They tried offering me a partial refund, but I said I wanted a full refund. This company is fraudulent. They have used false advertising and are refusing to give refunds to unhappy customers. I doubt there is even a product on its way. I am happy to send it back if it ever shows up.
