I seen an app on a community page on Facebook I responded because who wouldn’t want to work from home. The lady gave me a number on signal to reach out to so I did. The person said he was the hiring manager well I googled his name it says he is a CEO of the company. That was the first red flag but I continued the conversation. I didn’t give them any personal information. After my final question they stopped replying

Kristin Margaret posted in local fb group for job opportunity. Said need to interview on Telegram w Miguel Martin for Aurora Cannibis. Butbstarted asking for a clear pic of my ID, etc.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

It was a simple Facebook post that advertised $20-$30 and I took the opportunity thinking I could work from home to be here with my family. I ended up getting told that I would be transferred to the CEO who then told me to download telegram app to talk to him. He sent me the check that it is in the picture and thankfully I did not do anything with it. He also kept pushing me to do it and then I wake up this morning and the lady I talked to on Facebook had me blocked.

The person presented himself as Miguel Martin, who is actually the CEO of a very similarly beamed company out of Canada and gave the website to the actual company to review as to who is hiring you and all the companyinfo. It went into detail of the job duties and equipment needed to do the job out of your home and even explained the whole process of getting your materials/equipment. They don't cine right our and ask for the information that you are warned not to give until later. They just ask fur basic information such as name, address, contact number, cell phone provider and whether ppepay or portray type of account, a picture of yourself for the file and finally a photo of your drivers license. I started to say thinks like I'm notChincoteague giving this info with no way to validate who I'm speaking to. That's when I was referred to the actual website of the legitimate company. He has the right name and photo of the actual CEO he is portraying. They asked if I had a bank account and who I banked with, I did not give bank info just said yes and I bank work my local bank and credit union. Finally when I reviewed the website and looked for employment info. there was nothing listed in the U.S. when he asked if I reviewed the website I mentioned that there was no listing for the U.S. He said they were expanding to the area. When I asked him to provide the info starting they were expanding and hiring for Michigan I was blocked and communication stopped.
