I received message today

I received message from he tell me I am John Henderson the Manager in charge of Ardent Service Inc. This is to inform you that your first (Secret Shopper/Undercover) task has been assigned and scheduled to take place at two (2) different locations, near where you live. And they offer 500 check which come in 3 to 5 days,,,, tell me please this is legit or no? I do not know about that?

I just got this package from fed ex from ardent service inc I just got a check from Heath specialty precast LLC Jason or Cheryl Heath the check total was $4,920.00
They want me to do to Walmart and buy 8 vanilla gift cards 500 dollars on them and send pictures front and back and they said to keep 700 for the week wages and keep 100 for gas transport fare and purchase ing fee for the vanilla cards I just wanted other people to be alarm on this scam I just wanted to help make extra income for my house but now receiving the check and the letter I know this is a scam

They Almost Got One

I almost was out the door to go and try cash this check for 4, 920.00, luckily right before I was getting ready to hop on the bus and try and cash it at my bank. That I decided to look and see if this company even existed or who they were. I was directed to this site immediately as I began to look.

Recieved a job for mystery shopping which i have done that before but not like this didnt even get a respkmse if they were intrested in hirimg me or not.however recieved a piriority mail package with instructions for secret shopper at walmart eith a check for over 4,000 dollars so that was a red flag the. Instrictions to dwposit it in my account and then with draw 700 payme t for myself and the rest to go into gift cards to send a picture of front and back of gift cards woth reciepts to robert amrou.however the company name was ardent return addrrss waa matrfion peeformance and alloy out of tuscon arizona
Check said umb financial out of st joesph mo.
Company name on check was pps elect pmt clearning house.
So that being said i knew it was not legit and clearning house trust would be if you won something pps elec would be for elwctric company..so people try anything my question is why this person is still allowed or even free on tje streets to be able to do this

Was mailed a check for $4,820 for a secret shopper job.
With a letter of instructions.
To text Mr. Robert Amrou @ (732)997-6280, after I deposited the check into my account & withdrew $4,000 cash to go to Walmart & buy 8 Vanilla Visa Cards.
Putting $500 on each of the 8 cards.
Then send a text to Robert confirming the purchase of said cards with pictures of front & back of each card.

Yes, I to just received their packet with a Check for $2850. They aren’t the only one that does it. If it says purchased gift cards and send it on to another person or back to them you know it’s a scam. I get on the average of three of these checks a week. I always call the bank or credit union it’s drawn on. This way their aware of people trying to still money. And I give them all the information I have on the the check and the parcel packet it comes in. I’m not falling for a scam like this. Because if you cash it you committed a crime and it depends on the bank they could have you arrested for taking part unknowingly. And then the money out of your account and overdraft fees. So if your not sure if it’s legit or a scam call the institute that it’s drawn on. Save your self from heart or jail time. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS AND GIFT CARDS.

Just received a text at 6:30am from Ardent Service Inc. and would have filled it out if I only relied on checking if this business had a legit website (which they do) but then I decided to Google the company and all of your experiences were the first ones I seen. I am a little bored and a little lonely, so I decided to humor myself during shutdown due to COVID-19. So I’m playing along. I received 3 checks, totaling $10;800.00. I was a little impressed with the writing skills of my Mystery Shopper Manager Dean Henderson. He had a few errors in his welcome letter but it didn’t appear to have been written from anyone outside the US. I asked him why he would trust me with so much money, after all he has never met me or background checked me. They are losing money on me because I am having them send me different checks and they are paying postage each time. Unfortunately some people get scammed this way, but if people would just think about it; nobody just sends money to a complete stranger. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I must admit, the scammers are upping their game, but all it takes is a little common sense to protect your wallet. Nobody just sends money me money out of the blue.

I recieved a text and stupidly clicked on the link and it took me to a website to fill out basic info... name, phone number, address and nothing "major" in any case I just received this text attached below and have not gone any further since I've been researching this Ardent Svc's not sure what to think but I'm leaving it alone people beware do your research before you do ANYTHING ! I got a fake check in the mail for $2850 from Ardent svcs. This is fake. It was declined for mobile deposit and I later googled and saw other reviews. It came in a flat parcel. Please ? don't cash it!

I'm recently disabled...I'm a quad amputee from 2018. I have 3 kids, n I'm a single Mommy. I wanted to bring more income into our home to support my kids, so I applied to be a secret shopper. I hadn't heard anything back, til I received a flat package in the mail, with a check for $2850. There was a letter with instructions on what kinda gift cards to buy, what to do with them, etc etc etc... I was looking at this check n letter with my mom n kids, n I told them I was going to use my mobile check deposit for my bank account, to deposit the check, so the funds could be available by tomorrow morning...but my mom was very adamant about checking this company out on Google before doing anything...I'm so so glad I did before depositing this fake check into my account... God, things could have gotten so SO awful...
I'm going to take a picture of the contents of this package, n attach it to my post here, so you guys know what to look out for. Thank you all so so much for posting your warning stories...I might have done something stupid if not for reading your horror stories.

There is a reason that they want you to physically go to your bank to deposit the check. At first, the check will seem to be legitimate, and the funds will be put into your account. It will go from bank to bank when it is finally found to be a fraudulent check, then you are responsible for the money and any fees. If you try to deposit it with your mobile app, it will not accept it because there is something wrong with it.

I received a large priority mail envelope in the mail today. Inside was a check for $2,850.00. I thought I won another online sweepstakes. Til I pulled out the letter that accompanied the check in the envelope. The letter was from Ardent Service Inc. Survey Program and said I was chosen as a secret shopper. I was to deposit this check in my back within 24hrs and purchase specific gift cards in specific amounts at specific retailers with $2500.00 of the funds and keep $350 for myself. Seemed hoaky so I researched it online and found this website with similar stories about this company and their bogus checks. One person even had Police called in on her while depositing it in her bank.. Nope . not me! Screw these [censored] and their scam.

Like many of the others who have posted a complaint I to have received a package with a letter telling me what to do. And a check for $3600.00 I am to send $3000 back in BLANK MONEY ORDERS FROM WALMART. They must really take us for stupid.

I received just a check in a manila envelope today in the mail, the check was for $3,600.00, and I was to deposit the check in the mail, call Dean Henderson, then wait for the other funds to go into my account. Take out all cash and keep $500 for me and keep out $100 for money expenses and fuel. Then go to Walmart get three different money orders at $1,000.00 each. Please don't put anything on them. Then go to the FedEx store and send it overnight. Do they think I am stupid? Why would someone send me a check for $3600.00. I was born at night but not last night.

Just received this in the mail. It was shipped as a flat package. I knew after opening and reading the letter; that this is a scam. I've never signed up for anything like this. And no one sends or free money before a job is complete. And in the letter they ask you to go to the website and put in the amount of the check your received. Surely if they are legit and paying you for a service; they would already know the amount they are paying you. Do not try to cash these checks! This will resort in overdrafting your account since these checks are no good.
