Fake home warranty expiration letter

- Calico Rock, AR, USA

Scammer somehow knew I had a loan through a specific bank, assured me when I questioned them in detail that they worked hand in hand with my bank, and when questioned said that yes, if I called my bank they would verify their long standing relationship.

- Tulsa, OK, USA

Predatory behavior on my father with dementia. Forcing a payment out of him over the phone.

- Metropolis, IL, USA

I got a letter from Home Warranty Department and the letter said my warranty has expired or is getting ready to expire. I called and talked to the lady and she said I was getting scammed by my home protective serivces. Her name is ******* ***** and she said she was the manger of the Home Warranty Deparment. She was going to charge me $195.

There getting information from reverse mortgages or m9rgages and steeling from them mortgages companies usinf there names to get to us

- Coweta, OK, USA

We got a Final Notice from Home Warranty Department (no other name on the notice). I called to have our name removed from their marketing list, I was refused. The girl Allison kept trying to sell me a home warranty, told her I wasn't interested and was only calling to have our name removed from their list. She got very ugly, started calling me vulger hateful names, refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor and refused to stop calling us. I hung up and called back to speak to a supervisor but it was her on the phone again, she again got ugly and started calling me nasty names. Then blocked me from being able to call back. I'm going to file a formal complaint with the ScamPulse.com and the FCC. They need to be shut down.

Mailer appears to send no business name or return address or e-mail, only a phony number. This appears to be fraudulent phishing to get me to call to buy a non-existent warranty. They list my address with my initial lending bank, but don’t realize my bank immediately sold my loan to another bank at least two years ago. It says I need to get my home warranty up to date, but I never had one. It’s blatant misrepresentation fraud to get a call back.

- Darrow, LA, USA

This is the final notice letter. Says my loan secured by Citibank NA which I do not have an account with. They have my home address listed in the letter. Says my home warranty may be expiring or has already expired.

- Lebanon, TN, USA

I received a letter stating our Home Warranty with mortgage lender was about to expire. I called the number given. The young man was all over the place explaining why we needed to renew our coverage and how much it would cost. I couldn't ask questions and before I knew it I had given him my check card for $275. Service was 3 years total amount $5270.00. Later I called our mortgage company and verified we don't have to have Home Warranty. I knew then I had fallen for a scam. I called the bank to stop payment and cancel my card.

Letter asks for immediate contact and has the appearance of coming from my bank. There is no other company name anywhere in the letter. It suggests my home insurance has expired and that this is a final notice and I must respond immediately. Further, it says this is their final attempt to contact me and I must respond by 1/19/2024 by phone 877-670-3352.

After securing this homeowners new septic system with a lien at the county, this request came to her by mail with no company name or information attached. When I called the number to tell them we should not be listed on the request, I was hung up on.

- Columbus, OH, USA

Received a letter in the mail for a final notice that our home warranty was expiring. The notice has my correct name and address listed as well as the lender company that we are paying our mortgage through. No company name is listed, it only says it's from the home warranty dept.

- Sioux Falls, SD, USA

letter stating home warranty expired or is contact at 1-877-670-3352 complete address on letter

- Fuquay Varina, NC, USA

Using real name, address, and mortgage/“lender” info, it reads as an official “Final Notice” from a company you have business with. While in actuality it doesn’t list THIS company’s name, address, email, etc.

Aside from those obvious omissions (which alone should scream “not legit”) it looks official enough that you might be inclined to look into it before dismissing it. It is clearly an attempt to sell some sort of “home warranty service” (for which they list no price btw, only a list of the costs you could be liable for if you don’t hurry, and their phone number) to old people, or anyone else they can trick. Making it seem like a notice from not just A bank/mortgage company/insurance company, but YOUR bank/insurance/etc. helps them swindle people into thinking this is a bill they owe, or this is something they’ve had and its about to lapse.

Once I submitted the payment, I needed to pay $295 a month. I tried to get the contract canceled, but it seems that once they get your money, they will not cancel the contract. How do oi get them to cancel the contract?

- Cherokee Village, AR, USA

The company used threatening language about revoking home warranty. This was not the home company we use, however they had the correct name.

- Lynn, MA, USA

This is the third letter I received stating 'Final Notice'.

My mortgage bank changed hands about 3 years ago yet they are saying my mortgage is secured by the original bank lender. That bank no longer exists. Can I do anything to stop these fools from harassing me? They always give me a deadline to respond

I have not tried to contact them & never will.
