A very professional-sounding woman called indicating she needed to speak to the parent or guardian of my child (who is a freshman in high school). She said they had received a request for SAT/ACT prep materials and she needed to confirm some information with me. She confirmed our home address and asked for an email address. She then said that they would be sending materials which includes two disks that need to be returned after 30 days. All other material can be kept. She also needed to collect a deposit for the disks in the amount of $220, which would be refunded once the disks are returned. She also gave the option to purchase the disks for the stated amount and not have to return them. I told her that I don't have a card with me to put it on and asked if I could call her back. She indicated she is on 'outbound' and didn't know when she'd be on 'inbound' to receive a call, so she can call me back the next day. Obviously I won't be giving her a card number if she does call back!
