Working on the internet and received a blue pop up screen that said Microsoft has indicated your computer has been compromised. It instructed not to shut down or reboot the computer or all my personal information would be stolen. The screen seemed to be frozen, so I made the mistake of calling the number. I was asked lots of personal questions and was told that my Microsoft warranty had expired and it would cost $1,499.90 to get the desktop protected. Once they had access to my computer I have no idea what was compromised. When I hung up they were repeatedly calling my cell phone. When I called Microsoft tech support, they were very helpful and corrected all issues.
