I have always been pretty good at spotting scams but I fell for this hook line and sinker and I can only blame my deep desire for a puppy over rode my common sense. Pride does go before the fall. Long story short. So called husband was in VA on a trip and I could send my $480 to him via Western Union. His name Bertrand Kobe George. Supposedly everything was arranged for Friday delivery and the "shipping company" would contact me.
Fri. evening I get an email from a company called Cargo Facility Delivery Service signed by Mr. Clovis Miller. Branch Manager, that the puppy was scheduled to fly out of Dallas. Fine. then I get a 2nd email from them that the puppy needed 550.00 insurance because the "breeder" forgot some important papers and the puppy would be an a midnight flight for Sat. morning delivery. But that the money would be refunded upon puppy delivery. I am an [censored]! I contacted the "breeder" and they said all the papers were delivered. Back and forth. I sent the darn money to VA to a Shilton Acha Derick as per instructions even while my bones were screaming. I am an [censored] and deserve to lose this money.
This morning, a half hour before puppy was to be delivered I get another email from the shipping company that their agent suddenly got called back to Dallas and to consider it an emergency to contact Western Unions and tell them to re-route the money to Dallas. This time I listened to my screaming bones. How interesting that upon instruction to send the $$$ last night to VA and I had the emailed them a copy of the confirmation receipt and tracking number, that they were not there to collect it? Suddenly they are in Dallas? Plus if there was a puppy to be delivered at 1015am we live far enough away form the airport she would have already been in a delivery van and almost here. What was interesting about being played like this, and why I think that if they are not the same person, they are certainly working hand in hand, is because the play of the messages. If I responded to the shipping company with a question or doubt I would then receive a message from the "breeder" "checking up on the "progress". When I would send a message to the "breeder" voicing concern and doubt, then I would very soon after receive an email from the "shipping" company. On and on ad nauseum. At one point the "breeder" told me if I didn't do this the puppy would be quarantined for 6 months and she was more worried than me. I researched and there is nothing stating a dog with all their health papers and insurance would go through this on a domestic flight. This was simply a shipment from one state to another with about a three-hour flight if there was a stopover, plus they had "claimed" all the health papers were in order and it was simply about the insurance.
I may be out my first payment but I tracked the payment via Western Union to VA and it had not been picked up so I was able to get a refund. At least I am not out the additional 550.00 "insurance" money. I am heartbroken that I do not have a puppy and I feel stupid and ashamed that I got caught in this situation. It is not easy to lose that kind of money as I am not rich person, but at least I got the second payment back and I have to see that as a positive out of all this negativity. Be warned folks. I am looking where else I can report online fraud and I will report these [censored].
