Valu-Pass Reports & Reviews (2)

I called Glacier Bay on 2/19/2022. Glacier bay makes faucets and other plumbing accessories that are sold at Home Depot. I called to get a replacement piece for something I had recently purchased. What I did not realize is I had miss dialed by one number. The number I was calling was 1 855 434 5224. I accidentally called 1 855 434 5225 which is a company called Valu-pass. When they answered they asked how they could help me. I explained I was calling for a replacement part for a bathroom faucet. The individual started asking me for my information (Name, address, phone number, and email.) I thought this was being asked in order to ship my part. At this time I was informed that their system was down and they were not able to enter the information for my part replacement. This was followed by them telling me for this inconvenience they were offering me a $100 voucher that could be used anywhere. They added there was a one-time fee of $5.95 which immediately caused me to become suspicious. I said "excuse me" I am calling Glacier is this Glacier Bay? The person responded by saying yes, ma'am you have the right company. I started asking some questions at which time the person I was speaking to became very insistent that I provide my bank info to them. At this point, I knew I was being scammed. I hung up the phone. When I looked into my phone dialing history I discovered that I had miss dialed.

My father called Chase about his credit card, but mis-dialed one number. The people who answered led him to believe they were Chase representatives, but then over the course of a half hour (and two call backs when he hung up on them) asked him to repeat his credit card number, mailing address, 3-digit code, and email address several times with the promise they were sending him a $100 pre-paid Chase card. They told him he'd be charged a 4.95 handling fee. The charge showed up today on on his Chase account as a company called "Valu-pass" which I've now researched a bit, and find that they commonly set up this scam through phone numbers similar to customer service numbers from other companies and then proceed to charge multiple fees and transactions. I'm including in this description three phone numbers: the initial 800 number that is one number different from Chase customer service, a 216 number they called him back from twice, and an 866 number listed with the transaction on their credit card.
