Once I registered I was supposed to screen shot the website page and send it to him or them and he said that $5000.00 would be put on my account. I accidently closed out the page to screenshot it and when I tried going back in it all of a sudden had a different web name . Starting with an F.

I received a call from a man, Mr. Patrick Allen, of Publishers Clearinghouse. He said I had won a big prize by cashier's check. He asked me to call him back in 20 minutes. He said it was his job to get in touch to find out why I had not claimed my prize. He said he would have to cancel the prize if I didn't follow the rules. He didn't have an accent.

I was first contacted through whom I thought was a friend on Facebook. His name was Elmer Herbert. He was a friend of an old violin student of mine. He told me that he had won a large sum of money through Worker's Compensation Appeals Board. He told me that my name was on the list also. I wanted to believe it was true, but my gut was telling me something different. Elmer Herbert told me to contact a woman named Sharon Silva at her email, which was [email protected]. She told me to give her my full name and I did just that. She stated, "you are one of the chosen winners to get a winning package." I told her that this seemed strange and I did not know how I would be getting money from worker's compensation. She stated to let her know as soon I received this message and if I was ready to claim my winnings now to the Workers Compensation Appeals Board. I was told I had to then fill out the following information: My full name, my full address, my email, my sex, my age, my marital status, my mobile number, my occupation, if I have received a grant before, do I want cash or a check, do I own a house or rent. She stated that she promised the information would be 100% safe with them. She stated to kindly fill this information out and send it back to her. I told her I did not feel comfortable doing this. I told her as much as I could use the money, that I was going to pass. She stated we need all this information so that when we bring the money to you we will ask you for that information as a secret question to make sure you are the real person we have been talking to. We will give you the cash and you sign a paper that you have received the payment from the Workers Compensation Appeal Board. Then I said, "I just looked this up. You are a scammer." Then she got a bit mad and said, "LISTEN VERY WELL. This is a Federal Government Project and how do you expect a Federal Govt Project to be a scam? WE want you to know that this money is TAX FREE and you never have to pay it back. Then she said, WE ARE WAITING FOR THE FORM HERE NOW!!! Workers Compensation Appeals Board." I blocked the man that contacted me and she then deleted the emails, but I had downloaded them so that I could report this so no one gets scammed by these people.

I got a call today from a woman who said she was calling from Consumer Clearing House. She had an accent. I could hear other callers in the background. She told me I had won 1/2 million dollars. She asked if I was married or lived alone. She claimed a check would be delivered by courier on September 1st between 9a and 11a. She said the bank was HSBC. She said I could call the federal government at 202-866-7446 and they would verify that I had won the money. She said my claim number is M415D482-45. She said I had to talk to their attorney, and transferred me, but we got disconnected. The attorney called me back, and said I would have to pay taxes on the money, $216,000. Then she said she could get me a sponsor, and I would just have to pay $65,000. I said I don't have that kind of money. Then she asked if I could pay $6,500, and I explained I was on SS and needed my money for food and rent and didn't have extra money for that. Then she asked if I could pay $1500, and she would get a sponsor to pay the remaining. I told her no. The attorney said she would call back if she found a sponsor for me. She knew my name and address.

I was called and told that I had won the Publishers Clearing House. He tried to get $1500 for taxes on $5 million and a Cadillac prizes.

I was suppose to fill out paper work so he could put the prize thru. I told him he was a hoax and hung up.

He had a 833 phone number. He called at least 5 times and I hung up before he could talk. The 6th call I told him I had talked to the police dept and if he showed up at my home he would be greeted by the police. He tried another number the next day begging me to follow all the paper work and I hung up.

They used CVS website to scam me saying I was a value customer and we will have you to pick out a free gift and all you have to pay shipping and handling cost which is 10 dollars. I choose 2 gifts. The gifts came but they was cheap gifts but for 20 dollars I didn't care much. Later my credit card was charged 154.82 for the gifts. I called them and they say they not taking the gifts back. They are saying they work for Facebook we won money and needing all our information and a picture of our drivers license front and back to get $75,000.00. I first got a message from Justin Potts about me being on the list. He keeps pushing it for me to do it. Finally I do it knowing it's a scam just to see what it's all about. He wanted a list of info and a picture of my driver's license front and back. Did a little bit of searching on the profile picture and found it to be Randy Hutchinson. Figured it would be best to reach out to Randy and inform him about it. Not sure if it is fully Justin Potts or if he is part of it and multiple people are involved.

My ex-coworker told me about this and said he received the $50,000 in cash through FedEx and I would have to go through the steps to get the $50,000. I clicked then on the link and we chatted through Facebook Messenger. Then he told me let me check to see if you are in our data center which took about 10 minutes and he said yes I am in the data center. He asked me a bunch of questions, went back to whoever and said you are close to being a lucky winner. He sent me a form saying select what amount of money you would like and I selected the lowest one. There were executive fees, copies, sending it by FedEx and to go get a $500 gift card from Walmart, etc. He told me to snapshot the back of the card and he said I'm a lucky winner. He told me in order to pay for the gas for the Fed Ex driver to send another $500 gift card. Then I was still a lucky winner to send him $2000 through a gift card. I stopped and decided not to go through this anymore.

I received a post card. It said $250 in rewards were being held at their distribution center good for Amazon, Costco, Home Depot and other stores. I called the number on the postcard and I was asked to pay $1.98 for the closing of the reward. I asked what the reward was for and they said everyone within my zip code area was receiving it. It seemed suspicious to me so I didn't give my credit card information.

- Florissant, MO, USA • Aug 07, 2023

I received an email several times last week saying that I was a winner to receive a 65in smart color tv due to being a valued customer to Walmart. The email said it was $5 for shipping and handling and included a URL that led me to a website where I could enter my payment information. I entered my payment information for $5. They ended up taking $8.12 from my CashApp card then 1 minute later they charged my CashApp card $132.90. I reported the transactions to CashApp and they reversed the charge of $132.90 and received a notice to put a block on my card. The charge for $5 and $8.12 went through because it was a smaller amount.
