Small Business Bureau Reports & Reviews (1)

I received a message last evening from my sister-in-law telling me to call 1-786-509-4538; that I should answer some questions & I would receive money. Supposedly from the Better Business Bureau. I messaged her back & we went back and forth “talking”. She assured me this was legitimate and that she & 5 of her friends did this. Meanwhile Agent John Walkar was also sending me messages. I provided my address, date of birth, mothers name, did I want cash or a check, my occupation, monthly income, did I own or rent. I FELL FOR IT SINCE IT WAS MY SISTER-IN-LAW telling me all about it. I realized it was a scam when the “Agent” told me to go to the nearest store & buy gift cards. An agent would come to my door 6 hrs. before bringing my cash to collect the card(s). This was to pay taxes and their fee (around $1200.00). Since I thought (in the beginning) that it was initiated by my Sister-in-law, I gave them all my information! I gave them the info they asked for I feel so foolish!! How they connected the 2 of us I’ll never know. Now I don’t know what they will do with my info or what I should do. I did call the FTC & reported this. These scammers are getting very clever.

I am also getting calls from Social Security that there have been illegal actions taken using my Social Security number & my drivers license number & to call them immediately. I didn’t fall for that scam. They continue to call my home phone, but I don’t answer.
