I received a call from my local police department asking to verify location information so I could be served court paperwork for a lawsuit. The original company, *** *** ***, sold my account to a collection agency called Receivables Management. Receivables Management managed to tap into my local police department's phone bank to make a call that appeared to be coming from my police department to serve me court documents. Be aware! This company is a scam, they make false statements that they are a law office and they tap into city police departments to add legitimacy to their claims.

The first call came in August of 2018, they claimed to be a debt collector that was going to file court charges for check fraud do to none payment of a debt. I am not claiming that the debt they referred to is owed but this company told me they were serving me papers to appear in court at my place of business and to come down and pick them up...I spoke with 3 different people and while working out a payment arrangement they claimed that the attorney was calling them. We agreed on a settlement of payments. I made a few and called leaving several messages on their main number between October and December 2018 and never heard back. They took $500.,00 out of my account on January 4th that I did not approve. I called them again on February 6th, 2019 dispute the money they took out, they again, Beatrice Jones, threatened again to take me to court, I again had a conversation about repayment of debt and requested she send over a copy of our contract and set up an arrangement. On February 18th I called again to request a copy of the repayment contract, I was on hold for about 8 mins we spoke for about 5 mins first being transferred to a Linda Harris, at which point I said I w[censored]ding for Beatrice Jones and then was supposedly transferred to Beatrice, however the voice was the exact same. I told her that she was the same person I was just speaking with...Beatrice and Linda were the same person, she admittely denied this saying I was transferred. As of today, February 26th I have not received any documentation from Receivables Management and when I called them again on February 25th and today, February 26th to request again a copy of the contract their number is now no longer in service.
