I am a Quicken user and was having trouble with my bank account syncing to Quicken. I googled "quicken customer service" and clicked on one of the first websites. The website appeared to be Quicken affiliated so I called. I provide them with my name, email and username. They "confirmed" my account with my address. I then began to tell the individual what was wrong with my Quicken account. He talked to me about possible issues and provided me with what he was going to do next to assist me in correcting my issue. He said I needed to share my screen with him so that he could follow along. I am aware that this is something Quicken does to troubleshoot. He instructed me to go to fastsupport.com. He then provided me with a code to connect to my computer. Once he had access, he began walking me through "troubleshooting." However, he did not do that. I later found out that he was telling me that my computer had a virus. The virus was identified as csrss.exe. According to http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/csrss/, csrss.exe is a process which is registered as a Trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer from remote locations, steal passwords, Internet banking and personal data. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system. The individual then told me I needed to purchase a 1, 3, or 5 year plan to remove the virus and protect my account. The cost was from $24-$54. I was very hesitant and he knew it. He then stated he would fix the problem and I could mail him a check in the future. Before attempting to correc the issue, he went back to my Quicken account and asked what bank account I am having trouble with. I told him checking. He clicked on it where he could view my account number and routing number. I immediately ended the session and exited out of everything. After doing some research and talking with the true Quicken customer service, the company is portraying to be affiliated with Quicken. I am not sure what they are wanting to do with your personal information. I have contacted my bank and called the individual back and let him know I knew he was a scammer and that he was putting the virus on my computer to steal my information. He ensured me that was not the case but I do not believe him. This is not an ethical or moral organization and everyone should be warned. I will continue to watch my bank account to ensure my accounts have not be compromised.

I have attached the homepage of their alleged business. It appears it is affiliated with Quicken when in reality, it has NO connection.
