Attempted purchase of a baby iguana. Contact through website chat and email. Website appeared legit and so did transport company, edgepostalservice.com. All detailed and technical questions about iguana and request for pics of her family, were answered without hesitation. Names used for payments included: Taylor Tharp, Thomas Seiler, [email protected], TiaraBottley, Alice Jones. Process took 4 days of nearly constant contact. Paid for her through Zelle. Map provided of her travel progress. Left CA and reached Illinois. Wouldn't continue until refundable insurance was paid. Used Zelle. Then wouldn't continue until refundable city permit was paid. I started getting suspicious and paid with credit card through paypal. (Bank is now invetigating for fraud and stopped pending payment). They reached Pennsylvania and wanted more money for customs and registration stamps. At this point, I refused until they showed proof of having her. They provided pics of truck and packages but no shipping label or pic of her. At first, they pushed with a gentle and guilt-trip approach. I kept demanding proof. They pressured with blaming me for delaying and hurting her. Then an urgent need to pay or the authorities would take her by a certain time. They refused to provide contact info for the authorities. They were contradicting themselves in the communications and I pointed this out. They kept trying and I kept challenging them. Finally they said authorities have confiscated her and they stopped further contact.
