Man (english speaking, with no detectable accent) was very friendly, said that they support police who protect and defend us around the nation. We should all do what we can to support them, and said "Wouldn't you agree?". He said they'll send out a mailer for the donation in a few days, and asked which amount I'd like to give: $30 or $50. The $50 donation required a larger envelope that would take a little longer because they didn't have any of those right now.

He then asked to confirm my name; I said I'm not giving info that they don't already have. He asked again, and I said No. He then transferred me to a woman who was their "Verification" person, and said she would answer any questions I had.

When she came on, she tried to get my name. I said no. She then confirmed the amount that I agreed to donate, and asked for my credit card number and info. I said no, the guy told me they'd be sending me a mailer to donate, and I don't give out that info to cold callers.

Called wanting money to support this organization. When I said I wanted to check them out first, he said they only deal by mail. Went to web site and it's a political group, not a non-profit for police. Says they get involved at conferences and "support" a whole lot of other issues but doesn't actually give specific details. Front web page has a link for "Year End Report". Any year end report I every hear of of showed exactly how much money came in and where it went.
