Marriott Reports & Reviews (25)

People are continually calling the above cell number that is being used for a complimentary Marriott stay scam very angry I am calling there number who do I report this to.

- Youngstown, OH, USA

Caller asked if I was between age of 30 and 65 which was asked twice! The first time I stupidly said yes and than I said you already asked me that and they hung up!

Said we would get a free stay at Marriott. Being that we stay at Marriott a lot I said YES. Then the phone went dead.

- Oscoda, MI, USA

I got a robocall from "Marriott" about getting a complimentary room and thought for a second no it's a scam, but I hit 1. A Person came on and rattled off a question to which I said yes. Then he "transferred me" at which point I realized I made that stupid mistake that I just saw on fb to not answer yes to someone asking " can you hear me". Same thing, different tactic.

- Somerset, OH, USA

I received a phone call from 740-252-1965 saying that, because I had stayed at a Marriott hotel in the past, I'd won a free stay.

I hung up. The caller ID indicated that phone call had come from a city near me, and when I answered, there was a 'click,' as though my call were transferred. The caller had a heavy accent. Before reporting this to Marriott, I called the number back and got a recording saying it was not a working number.

- Bellevue, NE, USA

Contacted about a promotional offer from Marriott. Representative came on the line and asked for my name and if my area code was 402. Once I said yes they hung up.

- Franklin, IN, USA

Lasted less than a minute. He asked me if I was at least 30 years old and I said yes before I realized it. He immediately hung up.

- Fishers, IN, USA

When I answered the call it was a Marriott recording saying my confirmation number was chosen for a free night stay, if I wanted it press 1. When I pressed 1 the guy asked me if I was 30 years or older, I said Yes and he hung up.

- San Diego, CA, USA

I just received a call that is a scam from the phone number 6192502741

12:41 pm

An automated machine told me I won 1 night stay at the Marriott Hotel and press 1 to accept or 2 to be placed on the do not call list. Then a person came on the line, asked for my name and then hung up on me right after.

I received a call from the first above number and stated that I won a stay at a Marriott hotel as a recent guest. Representative asked if I was over the age of 30, when I answered "I am" and he put me on hold but never returned to the call. When I tried to call the number back, it went straight to a busy signal.

I had been getting calls from the other numbers and told them to take me off the call list. When I tried calling back the numbers connected me to an automated voicemail recording attached to "regular" cell phones.

I haven't lost any money YET! But I do not know what to do to avoid losing any in the future.

- Oregon City, OR, USA

Called me twice, phone call starts with a delay and laughing female voice introducing herself as Emily claiming to have trouble with their headset asking if she can be heard, regardless of response (I assume this is the scam looking for the person to answer "yes") she goes into a pitch about winning a free stay because we stayed at a marriott once.

I made attempts at interrupting the phone call demanding to speak with her supervisor and when that clearly had no effect it was clear this was nothing more than a recording even though callers voice did not sound at al like it.

Eventually she asked if i wanted to speak to a travel coordinator (again I am assuming they are wanting the word YES to be said) and when this got asked 3 times with no response the call got disconnected.

When I called the number back a pre-recorded message stated the "survey I had been selected for had concluded and press 9 to be removed from the call list" to which I did no such thing.

To date I have had no losses but his clearly lines up with scams I have heard of on the news.

- Washington, PA, USA

I received a call from the above number that stated I won a 1 night stay at a Marriott hotel as a rewardsingle card holder. When a person got on the line they asked if I was over 28, when I answered "yes they put me on hold and then another person asked a question I could not understand and the call was disconnected.

- Sharon, WI, USA

Said my phone came up and I won a free stay at the Marriott where I've stayed several times. Then asked if I was 35 or older. I said yes, they hung up. I called back number said it was disconnected.

- Cleveland, NC, USA

Call comes automated and states that you were selected by friends and family to receive a free stay. Then ask for you to press one to get prize. After pressing one it connects you with someone that asks if you are over 28. If you say yes they ask for you to hold then call disconnects. Try calling number back it rings then goes to an automated voice mail.

- Powell, OH, USA

At 3:02 today I received a phone call from 614-915-6005 and a recording came on saying that I was eligible for a trip with Marriott since I have stayed with them in the past. It said to press 1 to speak with an agent or 2 to be placed on a do not call list. We frequently receive mail from Marriott so I didn't think anything of it and press d one. The agent answered and asked if I was over the age of 35 and I said yes. It immediately seemed wrong after that and I was put on hold. I hung up right away and then tried calling back with no answer. It went to a woman's voicemail, nothing connected to Marriott, and I did not leave a message.

They say they are the marriott and you won, press 1 to continue, press 2 to be put on do not call list. Then they ask if you are over 35 years old. They record it.

- Omaha, NE, USA

Prerecorded message claimed to be from Marriott offering all inclusive stay and promoted to say yes before transferring.

- West Mifflin, PA, USA

Got me to answer yes to a question

- Interlachen, FL, USA

Got a call on my cell phone from a local cell number, it was a recording at first that said you have earned a complimentary stay at the Marriott and then a guy came on and asked if I could hear him and I wasn't thinking and said yes and then he hung up and I then remembered the can you hear scam! Tried calling the number back and it just rings and then goes to an automated voicemail.

- Council Bluffs, IA, USA

Said i won a prize through marriott and press 1 if youd like to be hear about the prize, press 2 if youd like to be added to the do not call list. Pressed 1 and said id be contacted shortly. Called the number back and goes straight to voicemail of a guy names Tom
