They pretended to be Microsoft alerting us our computer had been hacked. Computer warning said to call 844-993-2666. We were told to pay $149 via credit card to clean up the problem. They downloaded a program with our permission called Ultra Viewer to our computer to stop the warnings. When they asked for $, my husband asked to call them back. Told to ask for Steven Wilson at extension 154. My husband had already shared our name, email address and home address. Our adult children told us it was a scam, so we immediately called our banks and credit card companies to close our accounts. We have also had our computer professional wiped clean and changed our passwords. To our knowledge we have not had any loss of funds due to this scam.
