I googled Xfinity Technical Support for number and then called that number (888) 878-5895. Agent answered and said he could not help until I paid a past due balance. He stated he could reduce my payment $50 if I paid the invoice right then, and that this offer was only being given to their long time subscribers. He then sent me a link with the invoice which read "This invoice is created by Xfinity for just the qualified clients". It also looked like what a Go Fund Me page looks like and it said "Organiser Kimberly M Johnson". I don't remember the exact amount of the invoice, but I think it was between $200 and $250. Not thinking clearly, I authorized the payment and after that the phone went dead. I knew then I was scammed and immediately called my bank and told them what happened, and they removed the charges and cancelled my credit card. Right after that my phone rang and the called I.D. read "Google Voice" with the phone number (347) 474-8202. The guy on the line said he was calling from my bank (which he said the name of my bank). He proceeded to ask me if I had made charges in the amount of (read off several charges). I told him I didn't make any of those charges and then asked who he was. When he again said he was calling from my bank, I told him that my caller I.D. said he was calling from "Google Voice" and that he was not my bank calling. I then hung up on him and went in and changed my Google password. I believe the Xfinity scammer and this guy were in on it together. In the 2 days following this incident, I have been getting calls from the "Google Voice" number (347) 474-8202, which I am not answering.
