I was contacted by someone who I know but haven’t seen in a while asking if I had heard about global grant fund free money no taxes or does not need to be paid back

You complete application and get approved then you send money for “fees” upfront before you get the money I didn’t send the payment but I almost did thinking this would be answer to money needed I just didn’t

Trust sending money to get free money glad I didn’t send it

Tell him you want to apply for a grant. He then ask for your full name to check if its still available on their database. Then he ask to confirm some information about you to fill out the application form on-line: Mother's name; your address; e-mail; text phone; gender; occupation; age; a photo and monthly income. He process the information, come up with an approved sign and say: Congratulations!! He send you delivery info with Ref #, batch # and serial no. Don't tell anyone about it; send you a picture of your residence for your confirmation; then tell you a delivery man from FEDEX will arrive in 6-7 hours with the package and you must pay the delivery fee of how much money you want and send you the charges & winnings chart: 300 to 9,000 for 30,000 to 900,000.00.which is called a tax clearance. He then ask to you buy a EBay card with the money to send to him before you get the package. I did buy the card nor get where to send the card. I did not send him a photo of myself. I thought my brother sent me the information, found out he didn't, too late. I have the info on facebook.

I was contacted by what is supposed to be childhood friend saying he received $90k grant, all he had to do was pay the processing fee and shipping fee and you could get it in cash or check! Flags were already flying but I kept playing along. Then when it came time for the payment which had to be upfront he listed several methods payment including PayPal, I chose PayPal as I know I have power of recourse actions I can take. Then he began to tell me to go to the store and get cash cards on my PayPal card! Nope, then he tried to tell me PayPal could not be used as it was not working, I logged into my PayPal account and the site is not having any issues. I informed him of that and he provided me with 2 different emails but said don't use the first one it not work!?!? ([email protected], [email protected], heidi [email protected]) last two are the emails for the PayPal account, first is one he sent me a code to for the claim)

The information about me was general information nothing definitive, I have removed it form the text log and will add it as a file. I also asked what was supposed to be my friend messaging me on FB messenger (Just how do you know me) never got a reply. Now I have him still texting me and trying to reassure me this is not a scam! do not fall for this as the lowest fee is $1500 for $90000, yea right! I was not able to copy all of the chat log on the text message,

plenty of broken English and incorrect verbiage and misspellings

Don't fall VICTIM of this scam people!

Just said that i was a winner and they needed all my information to find me to deliver my grant

Hacked into a friends account via Messenger in which my friend told me he’d received A large ant of money. Said he was passing information to me as he knew I needed money. ( did not realize he’d been hacked). So I texted the number he gave via messenger. Gave them the requested info and they sent instructions to obtain a Sephora gift card of $100 for the fedex feed. This struck me bad. I did not send money but when I found out that my friends messenger had been hacked and it was not him I was talking to I let the scammers know that I knew it was a scam. They have now threatened to kill me

My mother had someone to message her through Facebook claiming to be one of her cousins. This person stated that they just received $200,000 after applying for a grant thru a company called Global Grant Fund while working for a US Congressman from Austin, TX. Claims to help individuals who are struggling financially. Goes on to state that there are no strings attached, no paying back the money. Asked my mother if this was something she could use and then asked if she would like to apply. My mother informed me of this message she received and right away I flagged it, cause for one, this so called "cousin" is a person my mother rarely sees let alone speaks to. I told my mom she needed to call this cousin on the phone and speak with her to verify that she really is the one sending the message. Of course my mom does not have her phone number so she sends the "cousin" a message back asking for a phone number. They replied back a bogus number, one of which the area code was not even one in the state of Texas. This is not the first time my mother was preyed upon by these "online scamming criminal thugs"!! She fell victim to the online romance scam. She was scammed out of every penny she had. (and we are talking hundreds of thousands of dollars!!) Forced her to sell her home, her car, and continued going after her monthly for her Social Security checks. This too was through messenger on Facebook. This went on for several years. Brainwashing her to secrecy and to not tell ANYBODY she knows what she is doing. There is NOTHING private about Facebook! Anyone can get on and access anyone's account and based on their profile, they either clone it or make up a fake account/person based on your own personal data and friends. There are many many people in this world, my mother being one of them, who are vulnerable enough to fall to such prey. Most living a sheltered life not able to distinguish such acts. Majority of these scammers are based out of Africa, with Nigeria and Ghana being the top of it all. Beware folks!! Social media is not all that its cracked up to be!! Call me old school, but the "old fashioned way" of picking up a phone and dialing someone whether for business or to keep up with family and friends and to actually drive to a store to purchase merchandise is truly by far the only way to go! This cyber world we have created has become the evil on the verge of destroying humanity.

Global Grant Fund used my friends mother (who is 90 years old) picture from Facebook. They instant messaged me asking how I was etc...I in turn thought it was her. She then began telling me how blessed she was by using the Global Grant Fund Program...a government program helping the elderly, young and old. They even texted me the agents phone number. Here it is....347.460.0159. I did not call but tried yo call her back using the phone on instant message. Of course nobody answered.

I called my banks and had alerts set up. I notified the daughter. They are checking into it. I stated on FB for anyone receiving instant messaging with my picture and name endorsing this program to block it.

I did not give any personal info to them but worried about opening up my phone to those scammers by me trying to call them back. At that time I didn’t know it was not her.

Whoever they are they are using the elderly pictures and contacts and trying to get private banking accounts by saying for one thousand dollars they pay all your bills for you. They tried with me using an elderly women I know.

Thank you for listening.

Received a message in FB messenger supposedly from a friend that she had gotten $100,000 grant and didn't have to pay it back. Paid $700 then was asked to pay the IRS money of $5,000 but told her didn't have that & she said she would lend me the rest. The she said there was a problem & that I needed to pay for insurance of $6,000.

Facebook messenger was the contact point. It gave a phone number to contact "Stacy" and see if I too qualified for a Free Grant. After Contact was made, they said I was eliegible for 3 MAC computers, and 200,000.00 Grant, after I was to pay $1500, and of course I was not to tell anyone.

I'm not sure if it is a scam or not nut my gut says yes. So I am mentioning and asking BBB if it is?

My friend told me about a company that I can text and claim my winnings from Global Grant Fund offer. He told me to text Michael ***@1-862-258-4231 to claim my winnings. My friend said they help young and old, U.S. citizen and Non U.S. citizen. We are all retired and I would hate to see them lose everything. Thank You !

This morning about 07:10 I received an inboxed message from a so-called friend asking me if I have heard about Global Grant Fund,,where its supposed to a grant in the amount of 100,000.00 USD to help seniors, retired, underemployed and non working people with funds to help them with what ever the need is.Personally I think its a type of Ponzi scheme,,or identity theft scam,,by giving up personal information to address, email address, city, state zipcode & phone number, where as a third party scam artist/hacker tracks/keeps all personal information,,but we are suppose to send 500USD to an address for overnight shipment of 100,000.00 via FEDEX or some other courier to secure payment of the 100,000.00USD.

Scammer used my facebook friend's profile pic and First, Last Name and started a new message with me. I knew that the English grammar used was too primitive than how my friend would message with me so I became suspicious. He/she asked me if I knew what Global Grant Fund is and that she (my friend) was able to get a $100,000 grant within a day. He/she gave me the name of the person I needed to contact "here is the agent text cell." At that time, I ended the conversation telling them that I would be contacting the FBI with this data and that they FAILED at the attempt to lure me in.

I received a call from Global Grant Fund, Patrick Chukwau, saying that I had been awarded a grant in the amount of $200,000. He said I needed to send $2,000 to Bank of America in Philadelphia, account #383017903901, routing #301202084. I told him I was in the hospital and my wife would not do it, could he just come here and get the money. He said no but there were other options and he would call me back with a mailing address and I could just mail him a check.

I received a Facebook Friend request from a person I know. After accepting it, the person asked for my phone number so he could text me his good news. I thought it was a legitimate request so I gave him my number. He then texted me about having received a grant for $100K (no strings attached). I didn't believe him so I called the friend personally on a different number I had for him. He confirmed that it was a scam and that he had not sent it.

This so-called Agent Robert Lewis contacted my mother on Facebook by pretending to be a friend of hers. They had duplicated mom's friend's Facebook account. They coaxed her to click on their site and she did. They told her she could get a grant for $150,000 if she went to Walmart and sent them $500 via western union. She did not have the means to do so and they harassed her for a while and gave up.

I reported it to Facebook and they said his Fb account did not violate their "community standards". If you look at "Agent Robert Lewis" facebook site I do not think you will have any doubt it violates anyone's standards. In fact, they have a message from my mother (Alta Waddell) right on the page. Hopefully you can keep this villain from stealing from some poor elderly person. Mom is 85.
