Fast forward to March of this year, 2021. Another sewer back up. I called Edwards because I trusted them, and was hoping they would cut me a deal since it had only been three years since they were here. They charged me $179 to snake and send a camera down to check the pipes. They said there were several cracks in the pipe that lead from my house to the street and it needed to be replaced. They did not supply us with a video of their findings. They wrote an estimate of $16,000 to replace the pipe!!!!!!!
Then last week the sewer backed up again. Less than two months after they snaked. They refused to come back out to do a re-snake at no cost or even a discount even though they were just here less two months ago for the same reason. I am not a plumber but I can't imagine that in a short two months at the end of winter, there would be that much root growth!!!! They also said that snaking would not do any good since there were several cracks in the pipe. The pipe needed to be replaced and stood by their quote of $16K!!
I called another company. They came out, snaked the pipe, put a camera down there. I watched as the camera was turned on before going into the pipe ( I saw it capture my bushes and surroundings of my house, so I know it wasn't a prerecorded video) I did not tell the new company that Edwards told me there were several cracks. I wanted to see what he had to say. I even asked if he saw any cracks. The camera went all the way to the street where it met the city pipes. NOT ONE CRACK!! Let me repeat that...N.O.T. O.N.E. C.R.A.C.K!!!!!
