Derma-Tec Imposter - Employment Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

I was contacted by Derma-Tec through text on 12/19/2022. The text stated “ Alert from Derma-Tec.

You made it to the Next step for the position of Customer Service Representative/Data Entry. You are required to download and set up TELEGRAM. Search and Add Mrs Keyona Kellie by her username (@Keyonakellie_Dermatec) and connect with her for your interview. Job ID is (REQ-101)”. After downloading and contacting, I was asked a series of questions, given information about the positions, and the company. I then was offered a position and told they would cover everything and simply send a check. The lady then proceeded to explain to me another person by the name of Michael Jones would be my Training Supervisor and contact me the following day. The next day, 12/20/2022, I initiated contact since they had not contacted me at the time stated, 8am EST, and it had been 2 hours passed. I then did some research looking into the legitimacy of the company including calling an available number under the company and was told it was a scam. However, the person that was informing me on Telegram tried to reassure me they were legit by emailing me an acceptance letter, background information, W4, and Direct Deposit information. I then informed them I would report them.
