Boston Terriers Family appeared to be a legitimate company, we placed a deposit after several days of discussions, phone calls, and e-mails. Our deposit was made through Zelle in the amount of $400.00 dollars. The company insisted we pay the full balance of $850.00, but we convinced them of our concerns and said we would pay the balance when we picked up the puppy.

We drove 350 Miles to pick to El Paso, Texas to pick up our puppy, once we arrived at the house, we rang the door bell only to find out that the owners identify had been stolen, and he had an open case with El Paso Police Department. In addition, the homeowner had received several letters with payments from prospective pet buyers asking for their pets which were turned over to El Paso Police Department.

We contacted Robert, the owner at Boston Terriers Family by Text and Phone, who insisted he would meet us and take us to the ranch in El Paso where the puppies were located, but he needed the balance of the funds. We told him we would pay the balance once the puppy was in front of us.

Robert, the owner insisted he would refund our deposit, but we have yet to receive a refund from Boston Terriers Family.

We have included screen shots of the web-site pages for your awareness.

I was interested in a puppy so I reached out. Everything seemed ok until he sent me a picture of the “parents” and they looked NOTHING like the dog. Then he wanted me to send money through Apple Pay to a completely different phone number. I asked him if I could use zelle and he gave me a different email and name and told me it was his “cashier”. I

Googled the email and no information came up. [email protected] with the name Tony. Told me to put instant release in the subject line

I shopped on google search for a Boston Terrier puppy and found this website which looked legitimate to me. I contacted them via the e-mail that was listed on the website asking about a puppy that was shown as available. they contacted me back and through several e-mails came to an agreement so they said to send the money ($900) using a cashapp called ZELLE which I already had built into my Huntington app so again seemed legit. the next day I got a shipment e-mail and tracking number through a company called Happytailslogistics.com . I checked the tracking number and it seemed legit with a destination and arrival time. A couple hours later I get an e-mail & text saying that I needed to purchase a special temp. controlled shipping crate per animal control in order to proceed ($1300.00). They used high pressure tactics and heartstring tactics... "Oh just think of poor Liam sitting at the airport just waiting for you" and that's when I got suspicious and through some research found a website Petscammer.com which detailed the whole thing and I knew I'd been had. So no money & no puppy. Filed a dispute with Huntington who said that Zelle is only for people you know and has no fraud protection like paypal so there's little hope of recovering the money. Local Sheriff's office notified.

We found a 12 weeks old puppy of Boston Terrier called Ruby available on their website and contacted the owner here https://www.bostonterriersfamily.com/contact-us. They confirmed availability and shared more info about the puppy (including pictures and recordings). They asked about our family (full names, phone number, house address, nearest airport and preffered payment method). We have provided all the requested details and agreed to pay $900 for the puppy and delivery. They replied back with Zelle email to send $900 to Kingsley Asong ([email protected]) which we did on Su 3/21 @4pm PST. They requested a screenshot of the payment as a proof and then they confirmed that the puppy will ship on Mo morning 3/22 and will be delivered at 8pm to our house. Then they sent us an email on Mo morning to confirm that the puppy is in transit and provided tracking number to check at https://happytailstravellogistics.com/track-shipment. They even provided a fake shipper to pretend that the puppy is in transmit!!! Unfortunately, we've got another email few hours later (around 3pm) saying that "the weather would not be favorable for your Puppy to travel" and asking for $3,999 to rent "air conditioned travel crate" (claiming to get 99% refund later on). At this point it became obvious that it was a scam. We refused to pay more money and reported the fraud.
