Wal-Mart Retail Researchers Reports & Reviews (1)

On or about 6/20/22, I received a text message offering a work at home opportunity. I don't still have that telephone number or email address on that initial text. I replied to the text. Next I received a text from (888) 721-3218 stating that my application had been approved and I would receive $500 for each assignment I completed. I was instructed to email "Information Received" to Paul Donald at [email protected] I received another 3 texts the same day, 6/20/22, from the number (240) 200-0431 stating basically the same thing as the 1st text from that day. Again, asking me to reply "Message Received" to Paul Donald at the above email address. It was signed, "Thanks, Paul". I did not reply to the text or the email address. On 6/25/22, I received another text from the (240) telephone number stating that an email had been sent to regarding the sending of my 1st packet to my mailbox, which delivered today. Again I was instructed to confirm the delivery. Went to my mailbox a day later, and there was a PRIORITY MAIL envelope from: Sandra Conti, 1801 W Garry Ave., Santa Ana, CA 92704.

Upon opening the envelope, I found a check in the amount of $2, 250.00, and a letter with the Wal-Mart symbol as the letterhead, giving me very detailed instructions on what to do with the money, after I deposited it in my account, and the duties I had to carry out as a Secret Shopper. I was to buy $1000 in 2 WalMart Visa Gift Cards, $500 each at the 1st WalMart. Then 2 more gift cards at another Wal-Mart for $500 each. Totaling $2000. I was then to unwrap the gift cards and send pictures of the front and back of all 4 cards, and the receipts and text or email them to Paul Donald at (712)524-7769 or (240)200-0431. And also my evaluation report reflecting the guidelines they set to observe was to be emailed to Paul. The letter also stated that if I completed my assignment within 48 hours, an additional $200 to the next assignment compensation. I did text "received 1st package" to them.

Thank God, this didn't sound right, nor did the check look real ( no mention of Walmart, no watermark), so I decided to Google it and found out about the scam. I would think that since WalMart knows about this scam, they would work with law enforcement to put an end to it. Not just post something on their website about this scam. How many people that spend their hard-earned money at WalMart actually visit their website? This is a crying shame!
