The man approached me at a parking lot of a grocery store, and he told me that he could fix the dents on my car for only $299 right there in the parking lot, and it would only take about 15 minutes. It sounded like a good deal and I thought I was helping a small business, so I said yes. He was "fixing" my car while I was in the store shopping, when I came out he drilled a bunch of holes into the body of my car and told me it was standard procedure to drill holes in order to pull out the dent. Then he put a black putty thing all over the holes and told me not to take off the putty until 24 hours later. I wanted to him $360 including the tips because I thought I was an honest man trying to make a living, and he wanted $400 because he helped me "fix other parts too", and then ripped another $20 out of my hands saying "make it $420 for good luck", and drove off.

The second day I tried to take off the putty, the holes he drilled didn't look they were filled at all, and some paint came off too, frankly it looked worse than before. I called the number he gave me and he did answer, and he told me he sanded the holes and that's why the paint came off, and if I wanted to make it look "perfect", I have to pay another $500, but he can paint over the holes for free. I'm now scared to meet with him again because he might scam me for more money, and I don't feel safe because he was pretty aggressive, and I'm shocked he didn't even have the courtesy to tell me he took the paint off intentionally the first place and thought I wouldn't notice by smearing putty all over it. I looked this up online and seems like this scam happens very often and those people tend to target people who are alone.

I was selling a trailer on Craigslist and this person contacted me saying he was interested. (he texted with very bad English red flag #1) He then explained he was out of state so couldn't give cash but would send me a "certified check" and he would send someone to pick up the trailer when the check cleared. He said he would send some extra money in order to pay the mover (red flag #2, they do this to get your money and then have the check bounce). He sent me a weird looking check for $2000 EXTRA dollars and then I asked him how much he sent, after two incorrect guesses (red flag #3) I told him to call me and he very angrily yelled in broken English demanding to know how much he sent me. He also called me on the number that he claimed had gone out of service earlier which is why he was contacting me from a different number( red flag #4)
