On (Friday) 17 June, 2016, I was on my laptop surfing the web for new laptops. I clicked on this webpage that I thought was a Best Buy website. (bestbuy.com) When I clicked on it a page came up that said I had a Zeus virus and I needed to do something in the next 5 minutes or something was going to happen to my computer. Not even a minute later, a pop up came and it had a 800 number on it to call and I thought it was Norton Security (what I have on my computer) because it was saying for help/tech support call this number. I was panicking so I called the number and after being on the phone with them for a while, I discovered they were not with Norton. The first rep I spoke with was Kenny. I had so many questions that he said he would transfer me to his boss, Gill Adams, who was located in TX and Kenny was in CA. They said Norton only takes care of the external part of the computer and they take care of the internal part. After an hour on the phone with them, they had convinced me they were legit by first showing me how many issues I had on my computer and they would need to take control of my computer through LogMeIn. I let them and they said they took care of the issues and showed me their website to convince me they were real and to buy a protection package. They had moved some of my icons around and had went to the install and uninstall programs on my computer and deleted a few things. They had asked me what they were and if I said I wasn't using it they deleted it. I just realized today (25 June, 2016) they had installed an Ad Blocker and an Ad Blocker Plus and I uninstalled both of them this evening. I had looked up what they were for and it said the sight could be used for 3rd parties to get personal information (like banking) and that is why I uninstalled and deleted the pages. I ended up purchasing a 3 month package for $99.99. Gill ensured me that I would have 30 days to cancel if I changed my mind.

On (Monday) 20 June, 2016, I was talking with an acquaintance at work about what had happened and he told me I had been scammed. He knows about computers and what to look for on their websites and he had looked up this company. I had looked on my online banking about 5:30 pm and saw that ESOLTESTC (which is TechZesty) processing the $99.99. I called them right away and requested the 3 month package (I had purchased on Friday) be cancelled. I spoke with Kenny again. His first question is why do you want to cancel and I said because I just do. He wanted to fix whatever the problem was I was having with the package but I told him I had changed my mind. I asked him to put his manager on the line and he put me on hold and Paul came on the line and I said, are you sure this isn't Kenny because you sound a whole lot like him? He said, "No, my name is Paul ma'am." (They all sounded like men from Pakistan or that region). I said I want to speak with Gill Adams. He said Gill was on another line with a customer if I wanted to hold or I could talk to him. I said I would hold for Gill and he (Paul) said he could help me with my issue and, again, I said I wanted to cancel my 3 month protection package and he asked why and I said because I have changed my mind. He ended up telling me "No, he would not cancel it. I told him I would contact my lawyer and the ScamPulse.com and he told me to "shut-up ". I let him know that his customer service was very poor and I asked again to speak to Gill Adams. Paul states, "Gill is busy having sex with his girlfriend." I was so shocked at the remark, I didn't say anything while Paul was on line saying, "Hello? Hello?" I hung up the phone in dismay that this call had just taken place. I looked up on my phone information on how to contact the ScamPulse.com in Clarksville, TN. I sent a message stating I had been scammed and I needed someone to contact me ASAP. I sent a message to Norton Antivirus through my phone stating the same thing and I needed the threat removed. Norton sent me a message saying they needed to run a scan on my computer and I told them when I got home I would contact them so they could. I contacted my bank to stop the payment but because I had paid for it through Paypal, I was told it would be better to contact them first so I wouldn't be charged a fee by going through my bank. Paypal right away sent an email to the company giving them until 30 June, 2016 to respond and return my money to me. If not, Paypal would refund the money to me and they had blocked TechZesty. ScamPulse.com contacted me the next day through email to help me. They are currently investigating TechZesty. Melanie Thompson has been a great help with this issue. I have never experienced anything like this before.

The attachment is a snapshot of my notepad on my computer TechZesty used when they took control of my computer through LogMeIn to show the package information I was going to receive and the info they got from me. I have a screen shot on my phone of the second notepad where they added my home address.
