SPETA Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association Reports & Reviews (2)

I was first contacted on an app called Freelancer, in which I put a bid in for a proofreader. I was contacted by Fabio Michelle, whom stated she was the hiring desk coordinator. The position was for Data Entry/Office Assistant. Fabio told me that I needed Google Hangouts on my phone to proceed with the interview, and told me to contact Mr. Jackson Tom on google hangouts. From there, the interview proceeded. Mr. Jackson Tom told me about the company, SPETA, and what I would be doing in the job. The starting pay was $39.84/ hour and training would be $27/hour. He explained that I needed a computer, and a printer be familiar with Microsoft Office, and also listed some accounting software that I would need to purchase/download. He explained to me that they are going to be sending a check through email, and that I would need to mobile deposit it so I can buy the office materials for the job and start working. He asked for my full name, email address, physical (mailing) address, and my phone number. I got a PDF check sent to me via email for $2,500 for the office supplies, but Mr. Jackson Tom wants me to print it off, sign it, and then do a mobile deposit. I don’t have a printer, and I’ve been explaining to him that I don’t have one, and I feel fishy about the company. He told me the only way to do it is mobile deposit since mailing a check would be too slow? The whole company seems weird honestly. Pretty upset that they would fish out people who are in desperate need of a job.

I was contacted thru text how about a work-from-home position for SPETA (Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association) paying $39.84/ hr , and $27.00/hr to train. I was told I would have to download Google Hangouts to conduct an interview. I downloaded Hangouts and was contacted by a man named "Williams Henderson" with a thumbnail picture of an Asian man. He asked me several questions as with a typical interview, then told me I was hired. He told me I needed to purchase several materials such as a computer, printer, and a bunch of accounting software, and that they would pay for it by sending me a check that would be issued by any of the 1,085 companies that owe them money. He then asked for my name, phone number, email address, and home address. I sent them my P.O. box, but he replied that he needed a home address. I told him I would not be able to provide that information and from there he went totally silent.
