Just read your site, went back to Scandic SN websites and all the sites have been suspended. I feel like an [censored].

Yeah I’ve gotten the same emails and stuff! I was googling to see if it’s a scam bc the site looks legit. But now that I see they’re wanting to pay off someone’s card for them to buy equipment sounds insane. It all seemed too good to be true for sure. I just got a second email that I need to send references. So I was curious and called the number. Busy signal immediately. Yeah major red flags.

I am going through the same thing! Have either of you figured out if it is legit or not?

Yeah. Totally a scam. We're filing a complaint with ic3.gov. We stayed with it until it became apparent what the scam was. After a couple of weeks of "studying" and end-of-week testing, followed by false praise of how well she had performed, they said they would give an opportunity to double the amount paid at the end of the "training" period by letting her perform as a buyer for their new offices in Asia. They claim their local people weren't able to procure office equipment at a reasonable price and want to pay off one of her credit cards so it can be used to purchase the needed equipment. So now it's easy to see the con.

I was contacted (by email, with what appeared to be a legitimate address) regarding a high paying “project management” position. Once I completed a 4 week “training” course (which basically looked like studying some company’s manual) and a test every Friday. I was promised a payment of a minimum $2,500 up to a maximum of $4,500 and then an invitation for an all-expense paid trip to NYC, and at this point I would already be on payroll with outstanding benefits. I had an “interview” with someone from Stockholm which was just this person asking me questions about my character and lasted 5 minutes. This person was also obviously Chinese and not Swedish. The caller i.d. was from Sweden, but when I tried calling it afterwards nothing went through and there was a click. Same with the New York number - either a busy signal or cluck every time. Upon further inspection of their website there were also red flags all over the place: strict instructions that under no circumstances were they to be contacted by recruiters, none of the phone numbers for offices in other countries on the contact page were viable, multiple wording issues and on and on. The HR person supposedly assigned to oversee my training was apparently in New York one day, Atlanta the next. And when I questioned why the phone number didn’t work I was told email was better and just to send any questions I had and he would get back to me.

I’m glad I figured out what was going on and immediately stopped communication. But people should be aware about this despicable practice and be in alert. It is particularly awful since I am currently out of work due to COVID and these people are vultures.

This same thing is happening with my wife. This entry is the only thing we have found that references this as a scam. We are just trying to figure out the target or point of the scam. She hasn't been asked for anything but to spend her time with the weekly articles. I agree it certainly looks fishy, but do you know what it is they are after?
