This is for a Walmart secret shopper/mystery shopper and they immediately send you a check for $3345. They want you to deposit it right away into your bank branch in your account then take $3000 and go to Walmart and buy three $1000 money orders leave them blank.. take the 3 BLANK money orders to a nearby FedEx and mail them to whatever name and address they send you after you tell them you did the task… and of course you get to keep that leftover money for your gas and expenses. First of all the package came from Seattle Washington from Laura Decker. The check they sent was drawn off of a bank The Peoples bank in South Carolina from Sportswear Unlimited Inc .signed by someone else. The name of the person to contact is Richard Lovell at 803-563-4610 Nothing matched.. knew right away it was a scam

I received a job offer through email to do secret shopper for multiple business locations. I never heard directly from the company until I received a envelope in the mail with a check for $3345 explaining that I needed to purchase three $1000 gift cards from Walmart and evaluate how the customer service was once I completed this task I was to text my contact and he would send me a FedEx receipt number. I contacted the company At the top of the check which was a plumbing and heating company and I reached out to the bank and both were fraudulent accounts. I also reached out to the company on the check and he informed me that it was fraud and they have already close that account. I did not cash the check like they asked me to and did not go forward with purchasing any gift cards.

Responded to an ad and received a Priority Mail envelope with a "check" for $3,000. I already thought it suspicious for the amount to be so high. They ask to deposit, keep the $500 for myself and use the remaining money to buy $500 non-reloadable gift cards to "any Walgreens, CVS, Target" store near me. They ask to not reveal I'm a secret shopper, remove the front labels of the gift cards and take pictures of them to send to a Sarah Peterson. The logo on their letter is "CXE" and supposedly 2021 Retail Research Industry. This seems too sketchy to me. I was sucked into a similar scenario of depositing a check and then withdrawing money, but the check bounced and the bank charged me for it.

My boyfriend responded to an online ad about becoming a mystery shopper. Assuming he filled out the necessary information a couple of months ago, the scammers 'Bart Johnston' and 'Paul Johnson' (odd/ fake names) sent him an envelope with a detailed description of what he was supposed to do. The envelope also included a check of $3,345. I'm always skeptical of these types of things and immediately said the check looked fake. Upon receipt of the package he was to TEXT Paul Johnson ONLY at 801- 407-9390 letting him know he received the information.

He was instructed to deposit the check, keep $345 for himself and take out the remaining $3,000 to get money orders from his local Walmart. It was repeated multiple times that only CASH could be used to purchase 3 separate money orders in sums of $1,000 each and was to be Fed Exed overnight to 'Paul Johnson' in Seattle Washington. The instructions said to not let anyone know he was a secret shopper, write a detailed report on his interactions at Walmart, and to 'ruffle the workers feathers' to see how they perform under pressure.

Instructions stated if he did not text Paul Johnson in a timely manner saying he received the package then a 'Task Force' would arrive at his address to retrieve it.

I have just received same package. Did you guys deposit the check?

I was sent a check for $1950.00 and instructions to take to the bank right away and cash put in my account. Text Supervisor right away then withdraw $400 for my work and another $50 for miscellaneous needs. Then go back and withdraw the remaining $1500 and proceed to the nearest Walmart. A list of quality things to look for and write down on the letter sent to me. Proceed to buy 3 $500 Vanilla Gift cards once purchased, sign the back of the cards and send pictures of the front and back of card along with questionnaire filled out to his email address above.
