I was unable to download a boarding pass for my husband while we were checking in for our return flight from France to the USA. There was no customer service at Air France. I googled Air France looking for a different number; I saw this website that claimed it was representing Air France customer service. I called; they said the reason I couldn't download my husband's boarding pass was because we did not pay the international surcharge when we purchased our tickets, and needed to pay an additional $680, upon which we would receive a link to the boarding pass. I provided the credit card number, received an email, but the embedded link did not provide a boarding pass. I called to complain and I was told that was because we need to produce my husband's passport at the airport. I said that information was already on file, but they only repeated that we needed to produce the passport. When we arrived at the DeGaulle airport, we asked the ticketing agent if we had to pay this additioal $680 and he said no. At that point I tried to contact the credit card agency to stop payment. I could not reach a working number but interfaced with a chat CS person and filed a form on line. The credit card company put a stop on the payment and says they will investigate.
