pitbullpuppysale.com Reports & Reviews (1)

I was searching online, hoping to find a pit bull puppy for my spouse, because they recently had to put their previous fur baby to sleep after a long battle with cancer. I did quite a bit of research and found the puppy that I would really want to get. All of the following communication took place via phone, text, and email.

After speaking at length with the alleged breeder, because I am aware of online scams, we came to an agreement of $700 total for the puppy, which would include papers, health check, crate, and obviously a puppy. I provided him my full name and address, to facilitate the delivery of the puppy. After speaking further, I agreed to send an initial deposit of $400 to ship the puppy, and then the remaining $300 would be transferred upon delivery of the puppy. They originally requested a Zelle transfer, but when I researched Zelle, I found that method of transfer is only suggested for people that you know and trust, because of how it can allow access to fraudsters draining your account. The man then said to send via Bit Coin. I wasn't very comfortable with this, but ultimately agreed. The "seller" then said he would arrange the shipment, and he would contact me with the flight confirmation. However, the next thing I heard was that a fully refundable insurance deposit of $570 was required by the shipping airline, but this would be returned upon the delivery of the puppy. The seller contacted me with this information, and I also received a "confirmation" and "alert" from the "airline". This still didn't sit well with me, but I agreed, for the sake of the puppy and getting it here. Once the additional money was transferred, I received another notice from the "seller" and the "airline", saying that the carrier that the puppy was brought in was non-compliant. They gave the option of buying a carrier for $1200 or renting one for a refundable deposit of $700. In conversing with the seller, I advised I would not be sending the requested amount, and since he claimed this was a 'surprise' to him too, he had the responsibility as the seller to correct this error. Ultimately, he agreed to "cover" $400 if I sent $300. I asked him for a copy of his photo ID or license, so I could have something identifiable on him. Once he sent the picture of his license, and since the agreed total for the puppy was $700 anyway and the insurance deposit of $570 was going to be "refunded", after much conversation, I regretfully agreed. Once the money was transferred, I was told the puppy missed her flight, so she would be shipped in the morning. In the morning, the seller contacted me to advise there was an overnight fee for the puppy of $300. I asked why the puppy was left somewhere, and how the puppy was being cared for, and I was told she was left with a courier agency, so she could catch her flight. I asked the seller for a refund at this point, and was told he no longer had the money, so it would take 30 days for a refund (and their site has a 30 day Money Back Guarantee, by the way). After another day of conversation and him insisting that he just wanted to help me get the puppy and this was all such a surprise and stressful for him, he said he had worked it out with the "agency" to only charge 1 overnight fee, even though it was moving into the 3rd day of all of this, and he agreed to cover $200 if I would put in $100. He promised the puppy would be sent and everything would be ok. In an act of desperation, I sent the last $100. He said the puppy will fly out in the morning. He continued to text me and asked for a picture of me. I wasn't sure why, but since he had my money and my puppy, I sent a face picture. He started telling me how he loved me, wanted full body pictures, and then asked for nude photos. Throughout the entirety of our interaction, I made it very well known that the puppy was for my military spouse, who was coming home, as well as the fact that I am Christian, so I politely declined to send any pictures of myself naked. Despite another promise to ship the puppy the next morning, I received no flight confirmation. Instead, he said the last thing I needed to do in order for the puppy to ship was send nudes. When I said I wouldn't be doing that, he said "your loss" and stopped communicating, other than to re-iterate his offer of nudes in exchange for the puppy. Within hours, the phone number we were communicating on was inactive. I asked repeatedly for new pictures of the puppy, and was always told he would send them, but never got anything other than stock photos taken from other sites.

I reported this to the FTC, and still have to file with the police and FBI. I spoke with the airport that the puppy was supposed to be flying out of - Dalton Municipal Airport - and they advised they've received several calls inquiring about puppies, just like I was asking. I spoke with Coin Flip, but obviously they weren't able to disclose details about the account that received the Bit Coin transfer, and said the phone was a 'burner phone' that wasn't linked to any person. The person behind this said his name is Egoberto Gonzales and his license was from North Carolina, but he's out of Virginia, and was using a Georgia phone number. He seems to have some affiliation with Davadi Contractors, LLC., which is also located in Virginia. The scammer's site is still active, but doesn't seem to come up as a top search engine result any longer. The picture of the puppy that I was "sold" is on several other sites currently as well; in fact, I found it on a Facebook page. When I spoke with the guy behind that Facebook, he said he had the puppy, another man from Virginia using a 706 area code number had paid a deposit on the puppy, but he could no longer reach the buyer on the phone number provided.

This may be far fetched, but it would be ideal if I could regain the money stolen from me and to hold this liar and thief accountable.

$400 initial deposit. $570 for the shipping insurance. $300 toward crate rental. $100 agency overnight fee.
