On September 18, I was contacted by a man named Paul Abelli. We chatted for a bit on POF and then we exchanged phone numbers. His number is a Rutland, VT number 802-417-2395. On September 24, he stated he couldn't buy iTune gift cards where he was at in VT so he asked that I buy one for him. I bought a $15 gift card and snapped a pic with the info. He then told me it wasn't enough money and that it was ok he would just hold on to it. At the time, I assumed he was going to buy music or movies since he said he was bored and it was like "the 60s" where he was at. Later I find out he is using iTunes gift cards to convert into money through bitcoin and some other money deal for his business. Since $15 wasn't enough he said I could redeem the code since he couldn't use it for his business. I did ask why he needed me to send him money if he has money and because of his strong accent, I didn't understand what or why he was doing what he was doing. Today, he asked if I could help him by buying a $100 iTunes gift card and send it to him. I don't have that kind of money and besides, we only started talking and haven't personally met. He continued to ask me for the money even when I said I didn't have it. He claims to have money but needs me to send him the iTunes gift card since he doesn't have access to a store near where he is at in Vermont. He claims he is there for business. When I told him I didn't have the money, he said that he knows I have it but I feel uncomfortable helping him. I told him that he could send me his money for the gift cards via Zelle or PayPal. He claimed he didn't like paypal and didn't want to open an account with them and then said Zelle was not available through his bank. When I asked him about his bank, he said it was Bank of the West. When I went to Zelle's website, I snapped a pic and sent it to him to say he could send money to me for gift cards since the Bank was there. He then stated he only had cash where he was at and isn't able to send the money through the bank. When I said he could mail me the money, he said he didn't want to send anything through the mail. However, he asked me multiple times for my credit card numbers so that he could put money on my credit cards for me to buy him the gift cards. I told him no and that made him upset that I wouldn't share my credit card information with him. He tried to make me feel guilty by continuing to say he knows I have the money but I don't want to help him. I offered to have him transfer his own money for his business through Zelle, paypal, or the mail. All are options he said he couldn't do even when I told him he could use a computer, he declined to send money of his own for his own business to get these itunes cards. His final text about this was, "I am not sending anything through the mail if you can't help me with your money forget it."
