- Dexter, OR, USA

Marriott calls often telling me I have won a stay in their hotels, calling from a variety of phone numbers. Despite numerous requests to get off their list, this scam continues.

Today's call used a phone number that indicated it was from a county sheriff. This is a new low for this 'business', which I will never patronize again. I would sooner sleep in my car.

- Anoka, MN, USA

I received this message on my answering machine on Tuesday7 December 1, 2020 at 5:41 PM. "This is an exclusive announcement from Marriott Hoteeels. Your telephone phone number has been preselected to receive a complementary stay at one of our five star hoteeels. For further details press 1 now. To be placed on the do not call list press 2 now."

Robocall claiming to be Marriott Hotels. Offering me complimentary stay. Claims my number was registered or selected (not sure). Possible scam; do NOT respond or ask to be placed on their Do Not Call list.

- Yakima, WA, USA

I received a call a moment ago from 509-248-7599. The name on the caller ID said ROBERT W. BAIRD. it was a recording with a woman's voice saying she was from Marriott Hotels and since I have stayed at one of their properties I qualify for a free trip or something. My phone battery is wonky and it kept dying and cutting in and out but I believe they ask for credit card # or SS#

- College Park, MD, USA

A voice recording advertising that I won a free stay at a Marriott hotel. Have been receiving several scam phone calls from multiple phone numbers that all share the same first 6 digits: (412) 735 for the past few months.

Call on the phone saying i had won a 1 night stay at a Marriott Hotel. (Automated voice)

Went through to real people who kept transferring across to other people asking questions trying to get me to say yes.

- Orange Park, FL, USA

A recording began asking me about my recent confirmation through the Marriott say that I was eligible for a free stay I pressed 1 a person came on the phone and asked me if I was over 35 yes they hung up

- Erie, PA, USA

Recording saying my confirmation from a recent hotel stay was selected to win a free night. Press 1 to take advantage of this. Then a man with a foreign accent asked if I was over 30. I said yes and the call got disconnected. I called the original number back and it went to voicemail. Then the man who owns the phone called me back to see why I had called. Was definitely not the same person. Denied calling me in the first place. I cancelled my bank cards immediately.

- Kaukauna, WI, USA

Caller offered me a free night stay at Marriott Hotels. I knew of this scam and immediately hung up.

- Stevens Point, WI, USA

A robocall said my Marriott confirmation number has been selected for a free overnight stay. When I pressed "1" to investigate, a human voice said something really quickly, then asked, "Are you over 30?" I said, "Say that again?" She repeated, "Are you over 30?" I replied, "Over 30 years old? Yes." The caller immediately hung up. Apparently this is the "say yes" scam, and I got caught. http://fortune.com/2017/03/28/yes-scam-phone-call/ I do not know of any fraudulent charges, the call occurred a few moments ago.

- Kill Devil Hills, NC, USA

Because I had stayed at a Marriott hotel, I had won a free night. The caller asked me if my name was....... and I said yes

Robocall saying I had won a free nights stay at a Marriott Hotel. Marriott would not robocall me to tell me that. I immediately hung up the phone.

- Toledo, OH, USA

Calling from a local number. Will call me harassing me up to seven times a day from 12 different phone numbers so far. The first 6 set of digits are always the same the last four always different each call. They say my number was pulled from a database at the hotel from a previous stay and they want to offer a free vacation stay at a Marriott hotel. The calls will not stop even though I ignore it every time.

- Delcambre, LA, USA

This number called me when I answered it was an automatic service from Marriott Hotels telling me that because I was a Rewards member I had won a overnight stay. I am a Rewards member and use my service often. It asked me to press 1 and someone would be on the phone with me as soon as possible to claim my prize the music started and then the phone went dead. I got off the phone nuumber what hotel would be calling me from a cell phone

Caller indicated I had been selected for a free opportunity at a Marriott Hotel because I had recently been a guest at one then asked was I interested in hearing more about it. I answered 'yes' then was asked to hold. I was transferred and the next person asked me my name. I did not answer. The person held on then laughed a little and quickly hung up.

- Lewiston, ID, USA

I was called and told that because of my recent stays at Marriot Hotels that I would receive a free night's stay. (We had stayed recently.) They asked if I was over 35 to which I responded yes. Phone switched to someone else and when I told them I was having difficulty understanding them, they hung up. Upon calling back, it automatically went to voice mail.

"Marriott Hotels" calling to offer me a complimentary stay. They call from the number above, but also from 920-840-7213 and 920-840-7556. I know these are scam calls and do not give them any info. However, I always answer the calls b/c they are spoofing phone numbers from my locale.
