Law Enforcement Reports & Reviews (16)

I was notified at work by a public service number which I was able to verify as a Biloxi Police Dept. number. A man identified himself as law enforcement (Officer Stafford) giving credentials and a badge number. He informed me that I had federal warrants due to not showing up in a court case I was subpoenaed in. I had an alibi and was informed that I would need to come up to the police dept. for signature analysis to clear my charges. Before coming to the dept. I had to set a bond placement due to the nature of federal warrants and charges. I was intimidated and threatened with arrest and jail time. I had to withdraw cash from my bank and send money through Walmart and Family Dollar through their money center using barcodes texted to me. After sending the initial 3150 I was transferred to a man impersonating a US Marshall and was informed there was a 3rd warrant requiring me to pay 4000 in bond placement. After completing transactions I was transferred to a deputy (Angel Sanchez) who informed that I would have to pay 2000 for a signature analysis. I refused. At this point I was transferred to a supervisor, Officer Gardner, who proceeded to threaten arrest due to my lack of cooperation and refusal to do any more transactions. I informed these scammers that I was going to the police dept. The following day I was called and sexually harassed by the initial scammer who identified himself as an Officer Stafford.

I was threatened that if I didn't give them money I would be arrested. They have been sending threatening texts and phone calls. I didn't fall for it.

Said that my account had been hacked and a warrant for my arrest issued stay online for available officer. Was robo call. I don't answer numbers I don't know but we are waiting for a business and their employees use their own cell phones. I just hung up and will not answer any other numbers I don't know. Just want others that might believe it not to get hurt.

I was contacted by a man claiming to be with the FBI saying I had a warrant and that my account at the bank would be frozen. I was told to get my money out the account and put it on a prepaid card and give him the number. My money was taken off the card. He said my money would be back on the card that Monday. No money and now I can’t reach him.

Caller sounded like a live individual but I think it was just a good recording. Caller said he was Deputy somebody (dont recall name) with Social Security and that my Social Security number has been locked because of questionable activity. Caller said to (do something, don't recall) and I would be connected with Social Security to resolve this matter.

I hung up, did not select option offered. I don't think he called me by name, but I don't really recall because I was stunned I was getting this call.

They called twice from two different numbers in less than an hour stating my social security number had been deactivated due to being linked to criminal activity or something of that nature. It said press 1 to hear more about this investigation and I hung up both times.

A man called with a foreign accent and claimed to be an officer. The name he gave me was Necxan Miller, with badge number 749063. Said he was working my case number CR79805 and asked for my last for of social security. He said he already had my full number. So I told him I would not give him, asked me how many bank accounts I had. Said a car had been abandoned at the Texas/Mexico Border with blood in it. And now I was going to be arrested. He got so frustrated with me messing with me and I hung up on him and called the police department and ScamPulse.com to report it. He didn't fool me!

This number called and an Automated Voice Message said: They were claiming to be Law Enforcement and stated there was illegal activity linked to my bank account and an arrest was underway. I hung up knowing that law enforcement wouldn’t be calling someone to let them know they were getting arrested also there is no illegal actions taking place with my bank account or my bank would’ve call me first.

Someone called my mother saying they were in law enforcement and that someone was using her social security number. There were two cars found involved in a crime with her name. They told her they would be in contact again and even gave her a badge number. They were trying to get information.

I received automated call left on my answering machine on Friday 9/25 @ 3:56pm on my home phone from an automated message saying there was an arrest warrant for me because of fraudulent activity on my Social Security number and Credit cards. Said an officer would be at my house the following day @ 3pm. I was to call back right away to avoid arrest. Needless to say I did not call it back, I know it's a scam. Reported to the BBB.

Received two calls from the same number (409) 449-1517. First call from male who said he was with the sheriff’s office. Called to inform them they needed to call this number because wife’s Social Security Number was suspended. When we called the number back, location was in Texas, the connection was poor and the person wanted the SSN to proceed. Hung up on them. Second call from a female (same number) who said she was with the police department and we needed to call them because wife’s SSN was suspended. We called and reported this to the ScamPulse.com and also called our phone company to block the number.

This robocall claims that you have "four series allegations pressed on your name" and that you will be "taken in to custody by the local police" if you don't call them back to "discuss your case". I did not call them back, so I do not know if they are trying to get you to pay them for their fake legal fees, but the exact wording of the robocall is known and reported on various websites. Example provided below.

"For working hours and once again expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local police as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment we would request to get back with us so that w can discus about this case before taking any legal action against you the number to reach us us... 914-412-5138"

My father received a fake "granddaughter" in prison call. She claimed to have been drunk with a friend and got in a wreck. She had minor injuries and needed bail. She gave a "case number" and said her "lawyer" was going to call in a few minutes. The fake lawyer then preceded to give law information on the situation and asked for bail. Neither caller gave names. The "granddaughter" took whatever name was given and the lawyer called himself a "public defender."
