Contacted by "Patrice", who claimed to be a recruiter for Hearst Corporation. This was in regards to a job posting for contract work. "Patrice" had me download Signal Messenger for an interview on this contract position. Once I connected with the 2nd individual (text number listed as 973-658-6594) that person introduced themselves as Frederick Arnold, VP of HR for Hearst. I took screenshots of that conversation. There "Frederick" asked for my contact info, asked some basic, if grammatically poor, questions then told me I had the job. Thankfully all data except which bank I use, is already available. "Frederick" said he was sending me a check and wanted me to report to him tomorrow at 9. Note that there was never a formal interview process, no offer letter, nothing and they continually ignored my questions. So I asked for more information, to be emailed to me, before I could speak any further on this as well as asking that my data not be used, stored or sold (per CCPA). This is when things got even stranger as both "Patrice" and "Frederick" stop communicating.

I did a search for the numbers. 973-658-6594 is listed in Bahrain. 941-944-4776 is listed in Sri Lanka. No persons with those names are listed on the Hearst website or on LinkedIn.
