Happy Home Shih Tzu Puppies Reports & Reviews (1)

- Philadelphia, PA, USA

We were looking for a shih tzu puppy and came across the Happy Home Shih Tzu website. They had what we thought was a cute puppy so I completed a contact form on their website. Shortly thereafter, I received both an email and a text from John Griese. The text said hello, that he received my contact request and that he sent me an email with what puppies he had available and some pics. He then proceeded with both text and emails. He then sent an email with a questionaire inquiring about how experiences with owning a pet. Not too long after, he said if we were interested in moving forward we needed to send a deposit of $400 via Zelle to take the puppy off the market. They then said they needed the balance also to be sent via Zelle to seal the deal so we then sent the remaining $400. I was instructed to send the money to Princess Barley (email address [email protected]). The puppy was $650 and the shipping fee was $150. They asked when would we like to receive the puppy. We communicated September 20th. We spoke several times during the week via text and even had a voice call. Was told the puppy would be registered with the shipping agency on September 18th. The 18th came and nothing. Was told later that day, it would be done on the 19th. Mid day on the 19th, we received an email from the shipping company (https://wishlogistic-shippers.com/cargo-tracking/ )saying our puppy was received and that delivery would happen on the 20th at 1:45pm. They even called me from a number (901-671-0706) to make sure I received the details.

Yesterday morning at about 8:30am, I received another call from the shipper saying that the puppy wasn't in the proper container and it needed to be changed mid transit. They said the puppy was being held in Frankfort, Kentucky and that I needed to send an additional $1,250 before they could proceed. I then called the seller (John Griese) to complain and to say I didn't have the additional monies to send. After going back and forth with him, he said he could put up $750 but for me to pay the remaining $500. I told him I felt I was being scammed at this point and wouldn't be sending any additional money. I told him to send my $800 back. He said he would only if he got the puppy back. He also said he couldn't believe I'm just abandoning the puppy and that I wasn't acting in good faith. Haven't heard from him any more.
