Someone from Guardian (in May 2016) showed up at my mothers door and claimed to be sent out by Vivint Security. They told her that Vivint had sent them out to upgrade her security system as the old system only ran on 2G and needed to be upgraded to 4G. They installed a new system into her house, and requested a voided check and asked my daughter to send a cancellation letter to Vivint cancelling my mother's account. Vivint then contacted my mother by phone to let her know that there was a scam from Guardian going on around in her neighborhood. My mother is now not being monitored by Vivint as their equipment has been removed. She is elderly and lives alone. My daughter is still trying to get an appointment set up to get her original equipment reinstalled.
