I asked for a signed letterhead to make sure I was not being scammed. "Mr. Christopher Workman" provided it and said he would send me out a check to buy equipment with. He sent out a check for $4900 but of course it wasn't real and the bank returned it. He then asked for my Social Security Number and account number so he could wire me the funds instead.

They found me on LinkedIn and send an email and ask you to set up a Google hangouts account and add their hiring managers email address ([email protected] in my case).

I chatted with him through google hangouts for about 20 minutes, felt like a legitimate interview.

1. I applied to a job posting on Indeed.com for a remote Data Entry Clerk that paid $25/hr. 2. I was invited to interview by "Michael Bronowicki" via email @ [email protected]. The interview was to be conducted via Google Hangout with "Mr. Christopher Workman" ([email protected]) on 8/6 at 9am. 3. I interveiwed for the position, answering basic qualitative and "fit" questions. 4. I recieved a job offer in my email inbox from [email protected]. I signed and returned the job offer with my ** driver's license attached. They have all of the information about me from my license, as well my cell phone number and email address. I was to report to "Chrisopher" on Google Hangout the following morning at 9am. 5. "Christopher" informed me I will be receiving a check delivered by FedEx to my address to purchase office equipment from their vendors. 6. I asked "Christopher" to verify this was not a scam since there was no evidence that any of the individuals actually existed. (checked LinkedIn profiles, etc.). I asked for a signed memo with company letterheading from the hiring manager. He replied saying he will get it to me next week. At this point, I knew I was being scammed and am now reporting to the FTC and BBB.
