We purchased the prepaid credit card for $1.95 fee and put $20.00 on the card to use on an internet purchase. We did not want to use our personal credit card and since prepaid visas have no account attached to them figured it was safe. We have used other prepaid cards without any problems. This particular card you have to register your card because its reloadable. Well we didn't want to do that but it wouldn't let you access your money without doing so. Reluctantly we registered the card but it required personal information such as SS#, DOB, ect. After the registration was complete it stated it would charge you $7.80 a month and we were livid that's ridiculous. So we called to complain to tell them we only wanted to use card 1 time and that this was hidden information. The man told us that he would wave the fees and make it a spend down account. That you would spend the cash on the card and it would close down. Well I made my online purchase which was $9.60 and my balance should have been a little over $10. I went to use the balance on my medicine and there was only $2.60 on my card....what happened to half the money? I tried to call them back and would not let me speak to anyone so all I can assume is they went ahead and deducted the other fee of $7.80 from my card. They are a bunch of thieves is all I can say. We paid an initial $1.95 fee and they took for themselves and additional $7.80 which is about $10 in fees!!! We paid $22 to get $12 back......ridiculous! Not only did we get ripped off but they also have our personal information which is whats really got me worried. I am usually smarter than this but this is fraud. So I posted on my facebook a warning to my friends not to use this card and I got at least 4 other people telling me they got in a mess with green dot. One person said the money was never on there, ect. This business needs to be closed down. I also called the consumer I bought it from Walmart spoke with a manager and let them know my trouble. I recommended they remove this item from their shelves because people are getting ripped off from something they believe to be a valid purchase. We work hard for our money and for someone to steal from you is wrong. This is a terrible company.
