Listed my car, got a request from "Josh" at 213 357 0405 "Ok i will drive to you tomorrow around 3 pm . Can you tell me some Govern Auto Fax on the vehicle please?"
I asked what he meant, he said
"Govern Auto Fax It's the history records but only the owner can pull online from (( GETAUTOHISTORY .com ) By the way my name is Josh, what yours?"

Listed my car on KSL. He started with some sketchy English and said he wanted to come see the car at 3pm the next day. After agreeing to meet, he said "sorry forgot to ask, Can you send me the ACH Papers record ?". Then "You just going to this website WWW. GETAUTOHISTORY .COM". The website looks kinda sketchy and fake, and people (such as everyone here) are reporting it as a potential scam. So I asked if he wanted an actual reputable report like Carfax, and now every response I get is a paragraph about how mad he is that I won't use that specific website. Classic scam tactics.

TL;DR: Don't. It's a big ol' scam.
Lol big scam

Not sure if it is a scam, but too much of a coincident. Also through autotrader, also a text msg with someone insisting on getautohistory.com for $25, won't take any other reports, even though I offered vincheck full report. when it looks like I wasn't going to buy the $25 report, he stopped texting me. Hmmm..., something fishy there.

Posted my car on Autotrader and someone messaged me, exchanged phone numbers, and then said that he would pay full price if I bought that report. He has a predetermined list of messages that he sent to me, all insisting that I should buy the report. Went online to see if it was a scam, the website has a 14/100 reliability rating. Do not fall for this scam. Buy your reports from autocheck ($25), carfax($40), or vincheck.info (free).

I have been trying to sell my car and put it on Autotrader.com, they reached out to me on there and then asked for my contact information. From there they scheduled a time and place to meet to see the car and insisted I get an auto history report from getautohistory.com. It started to feel strange to me so I went to a site for a free one and then I was accused of not listening to them and that they were disappointed because they "really wanted it." I stopped messaging them after that and checked the site for scam potential and it landed a 14 out of 100 on the safety scale. Do not trust this tactic.

I listed my (RED) truck for sale on Autotrader.com. A man contacted me about the listing and said that he wanted a vehicle history report from getautohistory.com I got a report from another site and sent it to him. He said he wouldn’t accept this report. I found that fishy. I told him I had two listings and needed to know what truck he was needing the report for the black or the white truck? He said the black truck. He had no clue what vehicle I had for sale. They only want people to purchase their $25 report.

I was contacted about a vehicle I was selling via text message. The person was adamant about me creating and using a PayPal account to acquire a vehicle history for the buyer. He would not accept a car fax and stopped all communication when I refused to create a PayPal account.
