I attempted to buy a boat on craig's list and was contacted by the supposed owner and he said the transaction would be handled through a consignment company DTCMotors Group at 399 Park Avenue, New York City. They had a website, showing several locations, customer reviews, etc. all seemed very professional and legitimate. I wired them $36,264 dollars for a2013 Premier Grand Isle 260 SL tritoon boat. When I followed up to verify delivery the date all the links in their messages said URL not found and their internet information was nowhere to be found. I found a Scam/Pulse.com report where at least 4 other people had been victims of the very same scam and knew I had been scammed and could not recover my money.

Same as above I was scammed the same way used boat, 35000 we need to find these scammers and take them a boat ride into deep blue water ,any body with me ? April 12 2021sent wire was supposed to be delivered April 17 boat was in accident April 18 no boat ask Robert Banta where is my boat no answer they delay delivery to get past 4 day dead line to get money back

I was scammed out of $20K. My story is exactly the same experience as the one prior complaint to this dated 4/15/2021

DTC Motors Group is one of several fake companies. This is an elaborate scam that I reported in https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/mritn7/prime_vehicl... /> The scam involves a several variations of a real-looking fake company page which is accompanied by many fake review sites that show prominently on an internet search.

I responded to a craigslist add for a used boat. Informed by seller that vessel is being held at a DTC Motors Group warehouse where they are acting as intermediary for a consignment sale. The dtcmotorsgroup.com along with all the customer reviews looked legitimate. I wired the $30K funds to Keybank National Assoc to beneficary Pro Auto Depot Inc.

Days later i was informed that the delivery truck was in an accident and my deposit will be refunded. While waiting for the refund i did more in depth research on the beneficiary name as well as DTC and became convinced that none of it was real.

Boat advertised on Craigslist. After inquiring about it, scammer responded with an email, I will copy the full text of it below. He directed me to a consignment company - DTC Motors Group to handle the entire transaction. The website looks really legit but something was not adding up. I searched for the business entity and it was just formed with the secretary of state in March 2021, and they are not at the address provided on the website. I did not attempt to contact DTC directly.

Hi, I just came back in town, had a family emergency. Hope I'm not too late and you are still interested.

All options are in working order. There are no structural or electrical problems. The interior is in nice condition. No mechanical issues at all. She starts easily and restart easily all the day. There aren't any service indicators or warning lights on (meets description and pictures). All service records and owner manuals are available. Clean and clear title, no liens (ready for a quick sale). Please check the link below to see the pictures, specifications/description, a summary inspection report, etc.: https://www.dtcmotorsgroup.com/inventory/245025/

The boat can be seen at the local DTC warehouse (I suppose you know DTC Motors).

I left it in their lot because we got a great deal on a different one (keeping them both is not an option, have to pay for the other soon). Also due to the COVID-19 pandemic I prefer to avoid personal meeting, therefore we have signed a consignment agreement with these guys for its sale.

For inspection/pick up and payment, all you have to do is to contact DTC and schedule an appointment. All their contact info are available on the website (phone numbers, live chat, office locations, etc.), in the contact us section. Just provide them my name as seller when contacting them and they will provide further assistance.

In case you want to have it shipped, as I have membership with DTC ( I’ve bought through them before and I'm buying the new boat through them too), I can ship up to 500 miles free of charge (over, extra fees will apply, $1.15 per mile).

If this option suits to your needs, then all you have to do, is to go on the website to buyer registration page and request the purchase. Just fill out the requested information on that page, and within a maximum of 24 hours, an invoice regarding the purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about the transaction, like insurance, shipping process, bill of sale, payment instructions, etc.. Basically all you need to know about your purchase.

That's essentially the online buying process but I should also mention that, when purchasing, you get 7 day money back guarantee, which costs nothing and should give you the chance to decide on the boat, even before I get paid for it. The pre-delivery inspection will have an DTC representative on site who should answer your questions and show you everything works. The boat was also pre-inspected before being listed for sale.

To end, the entire purchase process (payment options, shipping, guarantees, return policy, etc.) is described on the website, on the how it works page. Just read this page to better understand the process, I'm sure they do a better job explaining things than I do.

That's all for now, but if you have questions, I'll be more than happy to assist.

Respectfully

Robert
