I have tried several times to contact Delta Airlines customer service through their 800 number. First time I called, I was told the wait time was 3 1/2 hours, my phone battery died after holding for 2 1/2 hours. Next time I called Delta, I was told there was a 5 1/2 hour wait time. I needed to cancel a June 2021 flight due to a medical condition. It wasn't clear on the website as to whether or not I could get a refund. I did a Google search for Delta airlines customer service and was directed to the "24 x 7 Delta-Customer-Service, Bookings and Cancellations, call (833) 623-0554" site. I called that number and got through right away. The man who answered said his name was Robin and asked for my flight number. I gave it to him with my other personal information and he said I would get a refund. After the call was done, I checked my credit card information and a $150 charge from Cheap ticket 2063 appeared. Later that day, I was able to get a hold of an actual Delta airlines representative from the cancellation department. I explained that I was charged $150 for a cancellation and the agent stated twice that I needed to cancel my credit card. Delta airlines did not charge the $150 cancellation fee.

I was just trying to get money back from a credit card used through delta and they told me to buy gift cards to repurchase my tickets and that they would give me a full refund.

The authentic-looking email message purported to be from Delta Airlines and contained the message that my frequent flyer account was about to be closed. I examined the message carefully and found no misspellings, etc., to alert me. However, having been a customer of Delta Airlines for many years, I was skeptical and called their phone number 800-221-1212. It took a while, but with the help of an agent and her supervisor, it was determined that the message was a scam. I have deleted it, but it did have contact information, and I forwarded the fake email to the people at Delta.
