David White Reports & Reviews (3)

A person claiming to be David White called from what he claimed was the Publisher's Clearing House. He called from a private number. He stated that I had won $958 million, but that to receive the winnings, I needed to have a direct pay card with 0.01% of 0.01% (0.0001%) of $958 million on it to show to the Publisher's Clearing House people when they arrived at my house. He claimed that this would be about $950, even though mathematically 0.0001% of $958,000,000 is $95,800.

Additionally, he said that I would be escorted to my bank to cash the check. When I told him I do only online banking and that there is no brick-and-mortar location near me, he said that was fine and we could go to any bank. However, he earlier claimed that I would have to have a bank account already existing to ensure that the bank wouldn't hold my supposed winnings. After consistently explaining to him the impossibility of doing so, that was when he said it could be any bank.

The way he consistently seemed to contradict himself, the requirement for me to get a direct pay card, and the fact that he didn't seem to present numbers mathematically correct all made me begin questioning things, so I did a Google search and found the legitimate Publisher's Clearing House website where the company explains how they send out money, that they never ask for money before the prize is received (or after), and that if this occurs, then the person claiming to be from PCH is fraudulently portraying themselves. I hung up immediately, and then Googled "David White Publisher's Clearing House," and this page popped up on the top of the first SERP, so I decided to leave my experience in an effort to prevent others from being scammed.

Thank you to whoever runs this platform for easily allowing us to share our experiences and better protect others.

Received phone call telling me I was a Publisher Clearing House winner of $5000.00 of week for life plus a GMC vehicle. Gave me confirmation# and winning 3rd place # in IL along with call back number and his name. Told me I needed to give him my cell phone number and drive to the nearest Walmart which I refused to do and then he wanted me to get on the computer and go to Western Union. I played along and listened to his scam about some revenue p114 form and when he said he needed me to send 499 to him, I asked him was that $4.99 or $499 and he said $499.00 and I said I would not do anything like that over the phone. He tried to tell me this was legit with the ScamPulse.com and Credit Fraud but I told him that unless they were delivering it to my door I would not believe it. End of conversation.
