Received a txt from a stranger today - they saw my house listed for rent on Craigslist for $950 (very low rent for a house in that area). They'd responded to the listing but became suspicious when asked to send ID. We'd recently listed the house online but we did not post it to Craigslist. The Craigslist ad contact was not my name & not my phone number. I called the stranger & after confirming I was the actual property owner he was kind enough to share screenshots of his texts with the Craigslist scammer - it's almost comical how transparent the scam is but people must fall for it. Have notified craigslist & local police.
