The scammers wanted to use threats for me to add their website to my website using tricks to redirect traffic to malicious websites or to obtain backlinks for SEO purposes.

Someone emailed me on behalf of a supposed law firm where the "lawyer" served me a "DMCA Copyright Infringement Notice" for using a photo that was their client's and demanded I add their client's website URL to my website. They said I could not remove the photo but I HAD TO add their client's website URL to my website to "credit the photo" to their client. However, I remember I got the photo from a royalty-free image website and I have the original license where it says it's free to use commercially. I did some research online and found on forums that other people received the exact same email that was verbatim to mine. This is a scam where someone is trying to get a backlink. This is similar to when the ScamPulse.com began investigating "Nation Wide Legal Services" in April, 2023 for the exact same scam where ScamPulse.com also discovered that none of the attorneys listed on the businesses website are registered with the Texas state bar.
