I JUST OPENED A NEW BUSINESS WITH LLC OF FLORIDA , AND RECEIVED A LETTER REQUESTING A PAYMENT OF $87.25 CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ENCLOSED .
I WASNT SURE IF THIS WAS TRUE , I SEARCHED IN THE INTERNET AND GOOGLE GUIDE ME TO THIS WEBSITE SAYING IT WAS A SCAMMER .

"A Florida Certificate of status is issued by secretary of state and may be required for loans ,to renew bussines licenses or tax purposes" I recently opened my company registered on State of Florida, and this is the second letter, I received tellingme to pay for this kind of certification

Just filed an application for an LLC and paid all fees on sunbiz.org. I received a letter yesterday in the mail (03.01.20). This letter stated we needed to send a check or money order in the amount of $67.25 and to follow the instructions exactly.

What prompted me to look online for their name, is they had no website or a link to pay online. The letter, which came on nice letterhead and had a seal in the left hand corner, states "A Florida Certificate of State is issued.......business purposes. A certificate of Statues certifies that..........state requirements. The Certificate of Status shows........date of formation. The Certificate of Status bears the official seal of the Florida Secretary of State." They only give the party five (5) days to respond.

We filed a new LLC in the State of Florida and shortly thereafter received a letter from this company labeled '2019 Certificate of Status Request Form'. We did NOT request a Certificate of Status!

The letter is very 'official' looking, it references the name and address of the new LLC together with the Document number.

The letter requests the email address and telephone number for the business in addition to a check or Money Order in the amount of $67.25 to be mailed back to them, SIGNED by an officer of the company...!

This is a SCAM!

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Filed incorporation papers on Sunbiz.org for a new business; paid the state fees for articles of incorporation. Received this notice to pay an additional $67.25 for Certificate of Status. Letter looks like an official letter for/from the State of Florida however “This is not a government agency” in small print at the dotted line.
