BRG Collections Reports & Reviews (7)

This company BRG has called my cell phone and my job. They are asking for the same person. They say they are trying to get information to track this person. The caller ID shows up different numbers in different states but the number they give you to take your number out of their system is another number entirely. They are pushy and rude and insist the person they are trying to reach is at my place of business. He said we know she is has worked there since 2016 and they even called the wrong business name.

BRG collections seems to be running a scam attempting to collect fraudulent debts. They have called me,my mother and family with harassing phone calls threatening legal action if we did not cooperate. I do not have any outstanding debts or loans.

The number they are calling from 1(505)-302-9868.

Called my cell phone and left a message asking for my location information as well as threatened on my voicemail to call my relatives and references. There is nothing I owe outstanding... so I know it’s a scammer

Called my daughter looking for me; about a debt collection and threatened to call her work and references.

I called, spoke to a Bill Jacobs. He had a former address; former employer and last 4 of my SS#. Claimed I owed $500 to a something nut payday company. Requested the documentation to be sent; said it had; I told him no it hasn't cause I haven't received it. He said sorry but I don't have to provide this since I have a signature and this info; requested it again and he hung up on me. I called back to tell the front desk lady what happened, wanted a supervisor and got his voicemail. TOLD him not to contact anyone else, send the documentation and not paying anything. I was also filing a complaint!!

SCAM - he broke the law by sharing false info, threatening a family member, etc.

This company has contacted my elderly mother. Leaves messages daily telling her they are looking for me, there is a pause in the voice mail and a robotic voice inserts my name, and that they will use any and all means allowed by law to contact everyone on my "contact list" until they find me. They call her landline daily and leave a message, and even a name, "Jamie" once. They call from a different 877 number each time. We read thru prior complaints and looks like they claim they are collecting on payday or online loans which were deposited into personal bank accounts and then were not repaid. Well, we have never had a payday loan so good luck collecting on one! The big issue is they are calling elderly people and trying to scare them into giving them personal information. Please warn your older relatives about this scam.

At young lady named Lindsay at the above phone number Ext. 409 called me either Wednesday, 2/16 or 2/17 (anyway, midweek last week). She said that I had an unpaid $400 debt from over two years ago and that it was from one of those payday loan companies. Of course, she gave me no information about who the company was and never answered when I asked to speak to someone higher up in her organization. I told her that I would talk with her on Monday, 2/20, to give myself time to take care of medical appointments which I already had and to give myself some investigation time. I went ahead and tried to call her on Friday and she answered the phone. In that conversation, I told her that my bank had only one record of that amount of money being deposited to my account two years ago and that I had investigated and found that it had already been paid off. I decided to just "lay low" and wait for her to call yesterday which she never did. I have lost no money here, but I foolishly gave her information to pay $75 from my debit card on 2/28. I have canceled that card and told the bank not to make any payments using that number since I was sure that I was being scammed. I don't "think" I will lose any money since the last of the month has not come. The $300 total would be that there has been an attempt to get that $75 plus $50 each month for March through August.

Company keeps leaving messages. Spoke with an agent named Lindsey and she provided info about me making them sound like a legitimate business. However, when I asked who it was that I was in debt with. She stated there were four accounts none of which were anyone I owed money too. I then informed her that none of the agencies she mentioned appeared on my credit report. I also informed her that all of my debts had been paid off. She asked if I had my paid in full letter letters. I told her that I had all of them. She didn't really say much after that.
