Big Bone Coons Reports & Reviews (9)

I was scammed by BigCoons.com out of $1200. I reported them to the FTC, BBB, local police, and my attorney general. I also posted on Reddit and now the scam issue appears in a google search. I hope these deg[censored] get the karma they deserve. I dealt with a Guy Afah. The initial email from them was signed by someone named Mather. Ugh!

These scam artists are now operating under the name of PureCoons.com but running the same scam. I actually figured it out as soon as they told me they ship via airlines so I have kept them strung along for 8 days now in order to report to Google and the FTC cybercrime.

They tried to get me to send via Zelle first just the deposit of $350.00 then they upped it to $500.00 then told me they needed the full amount of $1200.00. When I told them we were going to pickup and not ship (as if I would purchase a cat and have it shipped!) when I asked for their address they told me they always meet their client at the Deluth Airport...ya that's not suspicious.

When I asked for a video of the cat I was interested in my email suddenly bounced...but they are so greedy that they reached out to me again with another email address (no video of course). I just sent them a final email with the requested screen shot of the Zelle transfer of $1200 which is actually a screenshot of the various scams they are tied to.

DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY. NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WILL ASK FOR MONEY VIA APPS LIKE ZELLE OR APPLE PAY ETC.

No breeder will transport animals unattended on flights.

The biggest tip-off will be the very reasonable price. Main C o o n Cats run from $1800 to $2800 per so if it looks too good to be true, it's a SCAM.

My son was just scammed out of $1200 from these same people. What happened when you reported it? I’m assuming we’ll never get this money back?

First and foremost, I want to mention that this was supposed to be a birthday gift for my 4-year-old daughter who is undergoing chemotherapy for Leukemia. I was looking for a specific breed of a kitten; a Maine C o o n, and having bought my Sheltie dog a similar way, I initiated what I believe was a dialogue with the breeder on the website. The individual provided info and documentation that made the entire ordeal seem very legitimate, but then once the initial payment was made through Zelle, the individual made all sorts of excuses about the status of the animal that was purchased. I can provide the documentation that she provided including false sales contracts, TICA registration for the name, and additional sites that seem to be run by her as well further perpetuating the false notion and scamming people out of thousands of dollars. I want to expose this individual because she is at large and is very good at manipulating people to get their money. Just as a reference, both https://purecoon.com/, and https://bigcoons.com/ are the work of a woman named Julia Mathers or Kari Prevost as per the name for her Zelle account that she provided. Both websites use her name for the registration papers. I can provide the documentation for further investigation including the documents she provided as a validation of her business.

They sell you a kitten for $1200 use Zelle and CashApp, then they tell you it doesn’t go through and then they try to get you to pay for insurance as well. They are very good and will send you certificates etc. it’s a scam.

This In home chattery is definitely a scam. I thought I was getting a kitten and they only accept CashApp and Zelle. They try to get you to keep sending them money. First they give you a cost that is over the Zelle max amount then they will have you use CashApp. Then when you think you order is coming they tell you you need to send more money for the insurance and you will get a check refund. They say they ship with EMS. I called the EMS # on the website and figured it out. I did not send any other money thank God. But I want to report them for anyone else. So they don’t lose what I did.
